This game deserves it

So, not that long ago I was able to use my controller (Logitech F310, which is effectively just a an XBOX 360 controller with a PS2 layout) with this game. A few days ago, it stopped working and the game now refuses to detect it. Before anyone says "but this game doesn't support controllers", it very much did pretty much until the point where the game stopped accepting controller input. I don't play this on keyboard because keyboard controls aren't precise enough for the level of gameplay I'm playing at (...

I am VERY surprised and disappointing no one has attempted at remaking this legendary game. I wonder how it would look and what other elements might be brought in that would keep it feeling like star wars but wouldn't venture to far away from the original. What features or new elements would you like to see in a theoretical remake?...

when are you going to finally release a successor of this game? :<
