Update: Bean Battles v2.12 - Beanmas ☃️🎄‼️

Merry Beanmas, Beans ☃️🎄‼️

I hope everyone is having a nice holiday season! The Beanmas event is now active in Bean Battles. Hop on and get 3x XP and Coins as well as an exclusive title! Patch 2.12 also comes with a new weapon, new cosmetics, updates to events, localization, and more! It's been a while since we've had a new weapon, so I'm excited to see what you guys think:

GAMEPLAY

- New Weapon BCR: A new assault rifle that is deadly at all ranges!

- Update to Events: Events got reworked! Pretty much, it means there will be more, and they come with special rewards! Beanmas is currently active. While it is, you will get 3x XP and Coins and an exclusive title if you play during the event.

- Map Updates: Some more Easter eggs and fan art around the map.

COSMETICS

- Skins: Four new Beanmas cosmetic items are now available! You will only be able to purchase these during the event, so get them while you can!

- Christmas Lights
- Nutcracker
- Snowman
- Ice Skates

- Event Titles: I've added a few new event titles! If you launch Bean Battles while these are active, you will get them for free!

- Icons: A few community icons have been added. Thank you, everyone, for all the fan art! Some of these and other art are being added to the Steam Point Store as well. If you'd like to add art to the game or Steam Point Store, please contact me on Discord.

OTHER / BUG FIXES

- Localization: Finally added support for languages other than English! This was a surprising amount of work and might not be perfect. If you notice any issues or incorrect translations, please let me know. :)

- Update to Server: Backend got some updates, mainly to support the new events.

- UI Updates: Updated the UI to support the new event features as well as localization.

- Other Small Fixes

Update: Bean Battles v2.11

Hi Beans,

I hope everyone is having a nice day! This patch contains the Hatchet, a new throwable item that will slice your opponents in half, new skins, and more!

GAMEPLAY

- New Item Hatchet: A throwable item that will slice your opponents in half.

- Map Updates: Small update to some hitboxes, and adding Easter eggs and fan art around the map.

COSMETICS

Skins: This patch comes with two new normal skins, and one special skin.

- Visor
- Baby

- Beanmoji: This skin is a mask that has the option to swap between dozens of emojis similar to the community hoodie! You can unlock this normally but also by the method below.

Title: One new title "Gamer", available for a limited time which is unlocked by adding an email to your Gupa Games account here: https://gupagames.com/account.
This will also unlock the Beanmoji Skin.

Icons: Many new community icons have been added. Thank you everyone for all the fan art. Some of these and other art are being added to the steam point store as well. If you'd like to add art to the game or steam point store, please contact me on discord.

Update: Bean Battles v2.10

Hello Beans,

This patch contains server side changes, branding, and a new website! In terms of content, there is not a ton, but this is something that I've been working on for a while and is a stepping stone to many future Bean Battles updates:

SERVER / WEBSITE

- Updated Server: Made some major changes to the server side of Bean Battles. The main goal of this is to eventually change how networking works(no more incompatible Nat type). This also helps connect Bean Battles Users stats with steam better to prevent peoples stats getting reset.

- New website: Gupa Games/Bean Battles now has a website! Now I will have a place to centralize accounts/news/and other content. https://gupagames.com/

OTHER / BUG FIXES

- Steam Point Shop: A few months ago I created a steam point shop for Gupa Games (Bean Battles). I planned on adding various fan art, but sadly lost my discord account as well as the art. If you already submitted art to me, or are interested in having your own art on the steam point shop, please follow the process explained here.[gupagames.com]

- Fixed issues with the Leaderboards as well as removed various hackers.

- Added branding(Gupa Games) to various parts of Bean Battles.

- Updated some frameworks related to steam and networking.

- Other small fixes

Hello Beans,

We have a new item! In this patch, Bean Battles is getting C4s, community skins, and some bug fixes:

GAMEPLAY

- New Item: C4 is now available. A throwable explosive that can be detonated when you choose.

COSMETICS

- Community Skins: There are now 4 new community skins. Congrats to everyone who got one!

OTHER / BUG FIXES

- Leaderboards cleaned of hackers

- Fixed projectile bug

- Other small fixes

Update: Bean Battles v2.08

Hey guys

This is a small little patch to address some annoyances players were facing and fix some bugs/issues.

GAMEPLAY

- The time between rounds has been reduced from 20 to 15 seconds.

- The time between matches has been reduced from 20 to 15 seconds.

- Mostly cleaned up the leaderboard and changed how it is synced.

BUG FIXES

- Fixed issues with servers(paid rent).

- Fixed some UI issues.

If you have any issues let me know. Hopefully I'll have something a little more exciting soon :)

Update: Bean Battles v2.06/2.07

Hey Beans,

Akimbo Glocks are now here! This patch also comes with aiming fixes, community skins, and much much more!

GAMEPLAY

- Akimbo: Now picking up a second glock will make you go akimbo.

- Tournament Match Changes: Pausing now instantly stops the match. If players DC, they may reconnect and will be spawned back into the match.

- Zone Sync: The zone now will properly sync for late players.

- TM-100 sound nerf: It's a bit quieter.

COSMETICS

NEW SKINS

- Community Skins: There are now 4 new community skins. Congrats to everyone who got one!

NEW TITLES

- BCS Winner

- RBBL Season 1 Champion

OTHER / BUG FIXES

- Aim Bug: Now aiming will always go to where your crosshair is.

- 3rd person Bug: Fixed issue with 3rd person aiming at some points on Beantown. Mainly red/yellow house.

- Close Range Hit Reg: Fixed issue where sometimes your bullets would go through the enemy at close range.

- Random Weapon: Fixed issue with random weapons displaying at the start of matches.

- Few other small bug fixes

- Fixed spectator bug

- Fixed map visibility bug

Update: Bean Battles v2.04/2.05

Hey guys

These are just two mini patches to fix some problems players where experiencing and to address the problem with the zone getting stuck.

GAMEPLAY

- Stagnant grid: Now if multiple players are alive and the grid has finished closing it will now relocate after a short period of time.

- Steam Authentication: Users and matches are now authenticated via steam.

- Weapon Verification: Weapons/stats are now verified between server/clients.

- UI: Slight UI changes in-game.

- Other small changes to help connectivity.

COSMETICS

- Team XoXo skin: For winning The Bean Bash!

Update: Bean Battles v2.03

Hey guys

This patch has a lot of QOL changes and bug fixes. It also comes with a change to weapon spawning, so its more consistent to find weapons.

GAMEPLAY

- Unfinished matches: Now when a match ends early, players receive XP and coins for the rounds played.

- Recent players: Recent players will now show up in Steam's recent players section.

- Weapon spawn rework: The exact details of this one is a bit confusing but overall weapon spawning should feel more constant. The spawns are no longer completely random. Some numbers have changed for spawn rates but overall it should feel the same.

- Character menu: The arrows to swap between various cosmetics finally don't move.

- Server side: A lot of server side changes to help performance and keep it more secure.

COSMETICS

- Slight modifications on a few skins.

NEW TITLES

- Bean Bash Champion

- RBBL Season 0 Champion

OTHER / BUG FIXES

- Gas Bug: Fixed the bug where your camera would get stuck on the the gas grenade.

- Weapon spawns: This has to do with rework. Weapons were spawning in at the incorrect rate in later rounds. Mainly the sights which was also causing performance issues.

- Performance: Other small performance issues involving the grid.

Update: Bean Battles v2.02

Hey guys

Today's patch is focused more on the competitive side of Bean Battles and helping out the various groups that run tournaments/leagues:

GAMEPLAY

- TAGS: You can now choose a TAG to represent a group or team. At the start of a game if the whole team shares the same TAG, your team’s name will be changed.

- Match Listings: Now match listings will tell you specific presets being used rather than just custom weapons.

- Tournament Match: In a tournament match you can now pause matches. Also DC’d players team/score/wins will be remembered upon re-connection.

- Competitive preset: The Riot Shield has been removed. The Katana now only does 50 if the preset is active.

OTHER / BUG FIXES

- Chat commands: A few bugs involving chat commands have been fixed.

- Custom Weapons: The Glock's spawn rate can now be changed

- Riot Shield: Fixed the bug where it would sometimes do the wrong damage.

Hey guys

This is just a quick hot-fix for some issues with patch 2.00.

GAMEPLAY

- Four-wheeler: The four-wheeler was a little bit stronger than intended.

Acceleration 50 -> 35

Max speed 55 -> 45

Steering 110 - 105

BALANCE

- Riot Shield: It was also a little bit stronger than intended, there will be more changes to it in the future.

Damage 34 -> 20

OTHER / BUG FIXES

- Fixed a few performance issues
