Cats to pet, MILF’s to befriend, what's not to like?

This is a silly little game for cozy and cat enjoyers.

It’s Stardew Valley x Paper Mario x that one roguelike where you’re a merchant x any game about cats.

I played on Steam Deck and I loved it. I should be upfront though: I’m a man, but I’ve been told I smell and act like I’m a cat lady. This game has a lot of cats. So again, I loved this game. I loved it SO much. It is just chock full of cute, coziness (to the point where I’ve fallen asleep mid play because of the music) and cats and night markets. What's not to love?!

Similar to Stardew Valley in gameplay. You advance the story by crafting items or solving puzzles while building friendships. The crafting gets challenging and addictive. When it boils down to the core gameplay loop, it is simply gathering resources from different places to craft items that can be sold for good margins. Cash can then be spent to further upgrade and access further points of the story. This all happens in a world filled by cute and adorable art style and cozy characters.

The style of the characters is goofy and heart-warming. The text based chatter can be pretty funny at times. You have to be into these kind of games to enjoy it. For what it is, it played great with no glitches. It’s basically a repetitive “go and collect items to craft and sell, then you upgrade as you make more” money kind of game. I personally really enjoyed the “forage, craft, complete quests” loop the game has going on for gameplay. The mini games are pretty simple and fun as well. It’s an easy, relaxing game.

I adored the art style and music, plus the market is really cool. I was so close to winning the cat race too! Also being able to pet all the cats is an added bonus. I really enjoyed the crafting in the game and how the selling worked at the market. The story was interesting and the Japanese feel is super cozy. Mineko's Night Market isnt supergrindy if you just want to complete the story, but if you wanna 100% the game you might have to grind for a while. I did 100% completely it and enjoyed the experience, but it is grindy and I can see why people wouldn't enjoy it. I didn't think it was anything too bad from other games though.

Yeah it’s not perfect, the pace is a little slow and the distance between night markets is a bit long, but the feeling of building up and getting a big haul is a lot of fun. The art style again is really cute, and one more time… you can pet ALL the cats and they MEOW and PURR, so really, it can't be that bad with that being the case can it?!?! There are also some balancing issues, mainly that they don't give you enough energy each day so it runs out too quickly, and there aren't enough crafting recipes. Still, I really liked the story, I loved all the cute designs, and the gameplay is fun even though it can get repetitive. Also the cat outfit is great, I loved it.

Overall I absolutely adored this game. The art really makes the game so special, the dialogue is witty and I loved all of the characters. Really enjoyed the story too and the humor and CATS. The atmosphere is prime cozy!! You build/craft, gather supplies/things to sell and donate to museums, and much more, all while following along to a very cute/heartwarming/wholesome story! If you're looking for a cozy game, or one that resembles Stardew, or a farming type sim, l'd definitely check this out! A great game for kids or anyone that wants to enjoy a leisure time of exploring. I would definitely recommend this game to any of my friends (and have been, enthusiastically :)).
