Eredia 2 is now LIVE!

I'll keep this short and simple so there's less reading and more gaming. Eredia 2 is now Live and available for purchase at a 30 percent launch discount!

And if you haven't had the chance to play the first game yet, now is the perfect opportunity to buy it at a ridiculous 85% discount, during the launch week of Eredia 2! Although it is not mandatory to do so, the two games are designed to be experienced one after the other. And players who have finished the first game are recommended to export their saves to Eredia 2.

How to export the save file:

-> Navigate to the Eredia: Diary of Heroes/www folder in your steam library.
-> Copy the ENTIRE 'save' folder
-> Navigate to the Eredia: The Great War/www folder in your steam library.
-> Paste the save folder here.
-> Even though the entire save folder has been exported, you can only load up the file which was saved in the player's home in Miralia after completing the first game. It's necessary to copy the entire folder so that the global and config files do not get missed.

Please do remember while playing that this game was made by a single dev, and while I tried to eliminate as many of the bugs as I could find, if you do run into something, please report them in the discussions section. I will try to fix them as soon as I can.

Lastly, please write your honest review after giving the game a try. Your feedback is critical to the success of Eredia as a whole.

Two Days Away!

Dear Potato Lovers,

The testing phase took a bit longer than expected, but I'm glad to announce that almost all of those annoying icky bugs have been squished. At the same time, I have some bad news, some good news, and some even better news.

The good news is that I have managed to enable cloud saves for both Eredia 1 and 2. The bad news is that steam achievements might be broken for Eredia 2. I'm at my wits end trying to get them to work, but it just didn't happen the same way it did for Eredia 1.

As for the better news, we finally have a release date, and it's 14th December 2023. I know it's just two days away, but I couldn't commit to a final release date without knowing that I've eliminated all the bugs, at least the ones that we'd discovered.

My one final advice to players would be to play Eredia 1 first, in case you haven't already. Even though it's not necessary to have an Eredia 1 save file to play the sequel, it's a direct continuation of the story right from where it left off, and it'll be a more enjoyable experience to play these games in order.

Eredia 2 Store Page/Progress Report

Dear Eredians,

I am pleased to announce that the main story content for Eredia 2 has finally been completed, and now the focus shifts to tying all loose ends, adding some end-game content, testing stuff, fixing shit, and making sure that the sequel that you have all been waiting for comes out as polished and bug-free as possible.

Because of that, I would like to start the next testing phase ASAP. If you are interested in becoming an early closed-beta tester, please reach out on the discord server.

Finally, I would like to remind that Eredia 2 is a direct sequel of it's predecessor and the story continues right from where it was left off. While it's not necessary to play Eredia: Diary of Heroes before playing this game, it is HIGHLY recommended that you do so for the best experience.

The tentative release date that we're going for is 1st November, 2023. However, a lot depends on how smoothly the testing goes, and how many bugs we have to squish. Add the game to your wishlist so you don't miss the release announcement.

As far as the developmental progress is concerned, I plan to finish the main story by the end of this month, and the testing phase is expected to start from the first week of July.

New Year, New Updates, New Discounts

Happy New Year, Eredians!

With 2020 and 2021 being rather unproductive in terms of Eredia 2's development, 2022 was far better. By the end of the year, we were able to finish:

- Developing all the towns
- Creating all four guilds along with their contracts and goodies
- Almost all the planned side contracts
- 90% of the world map (excluding free-roam islands)
- 70% of the main story content

Now, the above figures make it quite transparent that the main story development is a bit lagging as compared to the rest of the progress (world building, side quests, etc.). This is because I have hit a creative roadblock with the main story towards the end, and the RMMV map limit restriction is not helping either. However, it shouldn't take too long since most of the heavy lifting has already been taken care of, and the final 2-3 month testing phase will begin after I finish developing the main storyline.

In the meantime, for those of you who haven't had the chance to try out Eredia: Diary of Heroes already, we are now offering an 85% discount for the first time (same for Eva Reynes).

Eredia 2 Q2 Progress Report

Hello Eredians!

A small progress report to keep you all updated on what's going on:

- The world map is now 80% fleshed out. Most of the mapping has now been completed.
- The main story is about 65-70% complete.
- Ran into a roadblock due to the way the RMMV engine handles the map limit. Apparently, there is still no easy workaround for the 999 map limit. I'm still able to make room for the new maps by deleting the older E1 maps that won't be used in E2, it might pose a problem in E3 when transitioning between the two world maps. As always, I will look for a solution.
- A change of plan: I won't be releasing any more tester builds until I at least finish writing the main story. This is mostly to avoid the extra effort since I am changing a lot of things as I keep remodeling the game.
Expect something around the end of the year.

Eredia Q1 2022 Report

Greetings Eredians,

Thank you for your continued patience.

Q1 2022 has been a relatively active period for the development of Eredia 2. Some of the key progress points:

- Fleshed out a large area in the world map. Mapping of E2 is now 60-70% complete.

- While we're on the subject of mapping, I recently discovered that there is no proper workaround for RMMV's 999 map limit, nor is there a way to disable the limitation. While this is not a dealbreaker, it is still a roadblock considering the amount of content in the series. If anyone knows a way to disable the limitation, please contact me.

- Several short quests added. E2 now already has over 30 side quests/contracts.

- Character skills have now been added for up to level 65.

Happy New Year, Eredians!

Greetings, earthlings!

Hope you enjoyed your holidays.

The beginning of a new year is an obvious time for making new promises. Personally, I had made too many new year's resolutions back in the day to know that these promises are, in fact, the most breakable.

That is why I'm not making any promises this year. Rather, I'll focus on what works: taking things one step at a time. And that is what I had been doing with Eredia 2, despite the lack of communication from my end, lately. At this stage, I'm happy to announce that the game is over 50% complete, and while there are certain variables, I should be able to release the game later this year depending on how things proceed.

I am also pleasantly surprised to see the renewed interest the community has in Eredia, and the level of support it receives even to this day. I have decided that it's time to post a few screenshots to show what has been happening behind the scenes.

What's Next:

- Landing pages for Eredia 2.
- A trailer and more screenshots.
- An updated tester's version for the closed beta testers.
- A kickstarter and/or similar campaigns.
- Less infrequent updates. (At least once every two months)
