It is a really old title but still enjoyable. Not so much for the combat, but story and presentation are decent for its time.

I bought this back in 2009 apparently. Played it a bit then but remember getting bored very quickly and giving up. The steam sale was ♥♥♥♥ though so ended cruising my back catalog and thought I'd give it a go. I mean, it gets great reviews, maybe I just didn't give it a fair shake.

Honestly, though, having soldiered on for 10 hours hoping it would get better it just hasn't. It's not just how clunky the combat is. I mean, lots of older games have clunky combat, esp ARPGs from that era. It's like their hallmark. The whole thing just left me cold. Didn't really suck me in at all.

Jade Empire just feels very... by the numbers. Lacking in charm. When I replay classics like Fallout or Baldur's Gate, they might be old, they might be clunky, but boy are they still good games. This... No. The magic's just not there.
