I can see people talking about missiles, but I don't see any missiles available. Is there something I did wrong?

This seems to happen once I've traveled to about 2 or 3 systems. Once I trigger another travel and click fast forward, the game will crash. I'm on Ubuntu 18.04 and using the Vulkan mode. Without it, the background for all the menus was white. Let me know if there's any logs that could be helpful....
