I owned a copy of the HD version on the 360 years ago but I dont own the console anymore. Can this game be played normally like the console experience?

During the "Positive/Negative response" and "Quick Turn" tutorials these buttons didn't work for me. I mean, the left and right analog sticks work normally, it's just clicking them that gets no response. I'm using a Dualshock 4, tried running it through DS4Windows to emulate a Xbox 360 gamepad just in case and it still didn't seem to be working for me. I tried using it on another game that relied on those buttons, I picked Nioh, and there it seemed to work just fine. Is anyone else getting this problem?...

I love this game, I love the Zone of the Enders franchise as a whole, and I've cleared this game on my PS5, but I have to ask: Am I the only one out there asking for a MARS-style remaster for the first Z.O.E.??? It's weird enough that this version of The 2nd Runner didn't come with the "Previous Story", that was in the original PS2 release.
