The time has arrived! Placebo Effect 1.0 for Windows has been released and is available for download now on Steam.

Thanks to everyone who provided encouragement, gave us feedback, and helped with play testing to get the game to where it is. We will be continuing to provide updates and support for the game so we would love your feedback including any ideas or issues that you see. We will be working on ports for MacOS and iOS in the coming weeks.

Hello Shotbot Pilots,

With much anticipation, we’re pleased to announce that the Beta playtest for Placebo Effect is now in progress!

Placebo Effect is a Star Fox inspired third person "space-type" shooter. The gameplay is heavily inspired by classic video games of the past such as fast-paced flying action like Star Fox, puzzle solving like Super Mario 64, item gathering and adventure elements like The Legend of Zelda and King's Quest, but all used in a new way.

The full game will feature the entire Red Stage made of four unique Phases that must be explored to defeat pathogenic and biohazardous invaders. Your journey will include parts of the body like the intestines, and kidneys while you battle enemies such as Scorpio, Turbo Ticks, The Sporanator, and an army of Bugbots!

The Beta is Phase 1 of the Red Stage and does not include all of the props, puzzles and characters in the entire Stage. If this Stage is well received, then we plan to make more. We will be emailing out the new keys in the next few days and we look forward to hearing about what you like, dislike and want to see. The response has been overwhelming! We appreciate your enthusiasm!
