why the hell cant i play the game? i get dismissed everytime help

I purchased this as a gift to my son. He redeemed it but cant play it. It gave an error "there was a problem redeeming the gift. Please try again later, or contact Steam Support for assistance" I'm unable to contact steam support ; btw how the heck do you actually get hold of them? But don't hammer on that. He wants to play Beyond light and now cant. In the library only Destiny 2 shows. When you play and click on Beyond light icon in game, it takes you to a screen to "Get it" pay for it ? Come on stea...
