Suddenly, after years of game play, my game won't open. Can't even get to the opening screen. Anyone have any ideas what's going on? It's all very strange to me.

I am completely new to this game, I have no idea what I'm doing. But the amount of bugs is actual insanity. I die because my character finds just the right spot to fall into (either in fences, rocks, or even a tiny crack in the ground) and I have no way to get out without dying. Then when I go to get my stuff, if I don't fall in again, my inventory and crafting opens instead of the body's inventory so I can't take anything. NPCs will take the things I sell them and I don't always get gold for it. There was...

what happened to the game exactly? the game is great and still fun to play, but it just randomly up and died completely without any kind of warning. so what happened????
