I thought I would quickly finish the game and skip the cutscenes, but something made me buy the DLC with Duke Nukem. And damn, the game starts to feel fresh and funny with all the chaos happening, and the fact that they replaced the main character's voice line but not the others, which Duke constantly comments on. By the end, I even found myself thinking that this could have been a fun game about Duke.

A very lively and fun shooter for a couple of evenings. Maybe someday we'll see a sequel. Maybe.

84/100 A fast old-school shooter with some unique new ideas. Fun to play.

The graphical look is Gears of War meets ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West. It has the dioramas from Psychonauts and Duke Nukem. It has touches of Shadow Warrior and Doom Eternal (which it preceded). It's a pretty solid game: memorable, stylie and different. On the downside it has frequent micro-lockups for half a second all the way throughout. And the lack of ability to jump means you frequently get stuck on the environment, which is not good on a fast-paced Quake-type shooter. The sound is only 5.1. But overall I'd definitely recommend it.
