Good game, but DON'T BUY due to NEWER REMAKE of the 2018 version. You will WASTE MONEY for INFERIOR version instead of getting far SUPEROIR one contains all DLCs and new content (Surviving Mars: Relaunched).

WHAT IT IS? WHY THIS HAD MIXED REVIEWS?
It's a good simcity like game where you manage and maintain one of the first colony on Mars. It has charm and calm moment, and the game can turns into a scenario where you hold on to the last resources to keep your colony survive and thrive. Perfect balance that hooked me up and I have many GOOD and also BAD moments with this game.

Long answer: I had a bittersweet relationship with this game. This game was first original developed by Haemimont, later contract expired so they moved on to other projects. Paradox was being a dirty cheap and hired amateur team (Abstraction) to develop new DLCs, leading to massive bugs that BREAKS THE GAME.

I had boycotted them by refusing to buy the B&B and later DLCs. Sadly, that is also where Paradox announced the death of this beloved IP mismanaged by sheer greed and incompetency.

However, as you can see the page has mixed signal, I am truly giving this a positive, because this feels like a part of my soul. I had fun, and I enjoyed. We had fallout, yet I remembered my beautiful colonies before B&B.

WHAT TO DO NOW IF I WANT TO ENJOY THE GAME? WHAT NOW?

First, as stated above, NEVER BUY this for $30. Paradox has brought back the Haemimont to work on Surviving Mars: Relaunched, which is built on newest engine (as they claimed, though I still has skepticism).

RELAUNCHED only cost whooping $40 for all of this 2018 + DLCs, with far better content. I rather if this is your first time, $40 bucks of full are better than 100$ total plus DLCs of this soon retired product. For veterans, they has a discount of $20.

WHAT SURVIVING MARS: RELAUNCHED CONTAIN?

All DLCs + Radios + Base game of 2018 version.

New things: Better engine, Better UIs, Political System passes laws that affects all aspect.

Paradox is trying to revive this IP, though time will tell if their decisions will be correct, and the product is good. At least, I have high hope while remaining pretty vigilant about their choices. Feel free to comment.

I love when publishers/devs relaunch the same game and give all the dlcs for free, when I paid 100+ for all the dlcs already, and they only give a 20$ discount. :steamthumbsup: Thanks paradox...
Don't buy this if you want to get Surviving mars, wait for the relaunch, or just don't get it, I can't recommend a studio that will do this to it's community

I have well over 1000 hours in that game and have always loved it.

Now, rather than fixing the bugs they've left for year they are "relaunching" the game, with bug fixes, for $40 USD.
