Based on the trailer, the gameplay seems rather subdued. Is that the true overall speed of things in-game, or was there something more exciting that we didn't see?

In the very first non tutorial level, you get a commander and rifle unit. I can't seem to use both in one turn, yet the enemy can attack with all of theirs. What's the deal? Honestly the interface is kind of hard to follow. Thanks, IBJamon
