Hi Les, Despite being an IT inept, I've been digging into the game file on my own and having some great fun tweaking stuff. In the campaigns you always get two additional heros in your army: one from the base game and an additional added by DLC. These characters are story-related, so it makes sense that they're not available in the open campaign. However, I don't think that taking them away all together just because there's no campaign story to follow is very fun.
