I can become a cat. Best game ever.

Very sweet little game. Not too long, and not a smut game, despite what the pictures would tell you lol. It's a short metroidvania with a decent amount of heart, and oozes atmosphere. The combat is tight, albeit relying on the usual Dark Souls elements that most indie games go for nowadays. This game scratched the Cave Story itch I've had without realizing.

The levels are a little indistinct, and you won't be fast traveling between save points until a good one to three hours into the game, and even then you're limited to a specific checkpoint in each "zone." Navigation is a little rough because of it, but you won't have too much trouble. The hardest part is some of the hidden items and achievements. None of it is necessary, but some ask quite a bit out of the player, but I'll refrain from spoiling any of it. There's a decent chunk you'll miss for sure on your first playthrough.

feels very old-school sometimes but I really enjoyed the overall experience! sometimes you get stuck and don't know how to proceed, but completing it is very rewarding.

It's a very simple metroidvania from a technical standpoint, which you can finish in one sitting, but I don't regret a single minute spent on it. There are memorable bosses, pleasant pixel art backgrounds, and a fitting soundtrack. For a single evening, as a cure for gaming impotence, I recommend it.

Momodora: Reverie under the Moonlight is a short but sweet 2D action game with some slight metroidvania elements. While there are some areas you won't be able to get to until you unlock later abilities, but you won't be back tracking again and again across the map to do so.

This is a great game that has a pretty low skill floor and a much higher skill ceiling. This could be seen as a 2D souls-like game, as you have a dodge roll, a healing item, bells that save your progress, respawn enemies and save your progress, but this is a really easy game. However, if you're looking for a greater challenge, you can attempt to play with some added restrictions. First, you can play on hard mode, which will make the game closer to a traditional souls-like game. Second, beating bosses without taking any damage (including items that damage you when you use them) will net you a unique item you couldn't get otherwise. And finally, you can complete the whole game avoiding killing any non-boss enemies. These all make the game much more difficult, but also reward you in some way to make the challenge worth the effort.

Short and sweet game, simple platforming, fun enemies, combat is simple enough to remember to pick it back up at any time. Artwork is really pretty too.
