I was pleasantly surprised at many turns, be it music, weapons, enemy design. the atmosphere is just the right kind of eerie.
But many turns it did took, the levels are each a maze and some of them go too long, the mission objectives are sometimes so well hidden that more than likely, you'll pick a guide at some point.
Bosses are not not hard many of them only trickle ammo, making them take bit too long.

It's hard for me to tell how this compares to the original, apparently only some small stuff was changed and the music can be toggled to be the original if you fancy that.

Classic N64 remaster. Very well done.

This classic is everything a sequel should be, improvements to what worked, removing what didn't work and added new ideas. however after playing it for myself i feel that while i can praise the new things that the game adds such a wide variety of new weapons, i feel that it doubles down on various fustrations such as long confusing level (lair of the blind ones and mantid's lair anyone?), far too many of the weapons added are situational and in some cases next to useless. and while the ability to restock and heal in levels is appreciated, the lack of clarity on when it restocks can lead to frustrating situation where have barely any ammo to make it through the next challenges.

I am recommending it overall but with a massive caveat. This game would be fantastic if the level design didn't make me want to shoot myself. Holy ♥♥♥♥ I wasted an entire hour of my life looking for a single airvent only for it to be a random piece of wall that I could climb up on.
