Hello,

We have a few things to share today!

First things first: Our new lead developer is going through a lot of different things in regards to the code. While doing so, he is also writing a lot of documentation that is desperately needed. In the meantime, he has also cleaned up a lot of leftovers that are no longer used.
Right now, the focus is on getting the patching system done and establishing an
automated build & shipping process, so that we can deliver updates faster and more efficiently in the future.

While we cannot give any timeline at the moment, what we can do is tell you what we have planned for the first patch (so it still can change). But before doing so, please keep in mind that we will start small and work our way up to bigger, more exciting updates.

**Patch verification system:**
This system will verify that the client is on the latest patch. This will allow us to make sure everyone is on the latest version and mitigate potential issues caused by bypassing the launcher.

**Anti cheat**
While our coder was working on cleaning unused, old code and deleting about a dozen of old and often never used Anti Cheat tools, he started working on the integration of a new anti cheat solution. This has progressed better than we ever anticipated and we are confident that we will be able to deliver this within our first patch. For this, we will be using the well known and well established Easy Anti Cheat solution.
It goes without saying that this is a huge milestone which will aid us in the fight against bots and cheaters alike.

With this however, come a few changes.
Namely the fact that Sandboxie will no longer be usable. We are aware of potential negative side effects this may have on some of you, such as no longer being able to trade between two characters on different accounts. We are actively working on finding solutions to this, as well as other quality of life issues.

This change will also require a fresh installation, for which we will provide an updated installer. We will of course inform you once again when we arrive at this point.

**Quality of life changes:**
- We will fix/remove the "You can't act while moving" spam appearing both on screen and in the chat log.
- Experience points gained by the pet will be toggleable in the settings, so that you can decide whether or not you want to see it.

On first glance, these changes may not seem like a big step but it is important preparation work that we must take to ensure we can work on a solid foundation. As we are still
getting to understand the code, priorities may change depending on how easy or difficult certain things turn out to be.

As for what comes after that, we are currently planning a lot of exciting things, many of which we cannot share just yet. But to give you a glimpse, here are some things:

- **HOW:** We are looking into activating HOW on the test server to see whether or not we can fix the known issues and potentially bring this feature back online.
- **ED4:** Most of the concept for this was already done when AHA was still developing Florensia. We even had it on the test server for a short while. Work on this is continuing of course.
- **QoL:** We are also focused on bringing QoL features/changes, such as in-game teleportation cards to other islands, faster crafting times for 2nd jobs, EXP adjustments and more!
- **New textures:** Our in-house artist has started to work on new textures in order to replace some of the more outdated ones currently in the game.
- **Localization updates:** Updates to localization to enhance and fix existing translation.

The list goes on and on, these are just some of the things we are currently conceptionalizing and working on. We will of course keep you updated on the progress as and when there are news.
