Not like other far cry games. The villains aren't as good but the gameplay is great.

I had no intentions to purchase this game since it had no "guns" but last Christmas sale 2023, it was very cheap so I got it. Man oh man I'm glad I did. I love.this game and it's probably my second favorite Far Cry game.after Far Cry 2.

If you are on the fence of getting it, then don't. Get it if you like the Far Cry formula.

Other than the second game, I have liked all the other Farcry games, and this is no exception though it took me a little while to warm up to it.

Graphics were good as were sound effects and voice acting. The story was very unique as it takes place right after the Ice Age. You play Takkar of an endangered and not well organized tribe called the Wenja. There are some other tribes trying to take out your tribe and it falls to you to defeat them and their leaders while finding those you can bring back to your village to help train you and your people.
At first, I almost quit this game a couple of times as it was so repetitive trying to just get to the mission areas as you are constantly attacked by the animals, and since you have weak weapons that break and do very little damage, you die over and over again just trying to accomplish anything. And it is worse at night. But once you do the Beast Master mission, you are able to tame animals and add them to your list and it helps you alot and makes this easier to do. You also have quite the arsenal of weapons to choose from and after your spirit journey, you can summon an Owl to open up the world, drop little "bombs" and even attack certain people and and structures.
The thing I didn't like was taking out some of the creatures can be very hard, but when you have them by your side they aren't quite so strong.
Liked the mixture of missions and the unique story of this game., and the most of the boss fights were pretty hard. Pretty solid game in the end.
