It's like a crap Far Cry

Pretty much a standard open world Cryengine game so if you like those, you'll be quite comfortable playing this one though it was not nearly as long as some Far Cry offerings.

The checkpoint system on this one is pretty bad and, depending on the circumstances, you might get almost all the way through the mission and that ONE guy you missed kills you and you have to do most of it over again. That's a time waster.

Some bugs and the player can sometimes drop into a closed non-playing area and can't get out (like a shed or basement that you can't get into unless you fall on top of them and suddenly find yourself trapped inside) as well as the issue with being frozen and you can't move unless you switch weapons for some reason. Never saw that bug before.

Considering I have a brand new PC with an i9-14900K, top Samsung M.2 drives, plenty of DDR5 RAM and a one step down from the best GPU (all as of early 2024), the load times on this one are abysmal and I can't imagine how bad it was when this game came out 7 years ago. It's like it's unpacking the world every time you fire up the game or change to a different map.

Better than Ghost Warrior 1 and 2 which were too much on rails and kinda lame but nowhere near as good as the Contracts versions that came later.

So, decent game and I'm glad I finally got to it but it has some quirks. Rated it a Yes but wish there was a "Maybe" button instead.
