only 19% of players got past the first puzzle??

Hello I cannot launch the game in 2024. The launching box "Starting game - Broken sword 2 - Launching executable" is appearing at the center of the display for a couple of seconds and disappearing. The game doesn`t launch at all. I’m introducing Broken Sword to my partner, and after reading reviews of the Director’s Cut version of BS1 it seems better to wait for the BS1 remaster that will be coming out in the next couple of months. In the meantime, would it make sense for us to play the BS2 remaster first? I can’t remember the storyline any more. Would like some opinions about introducing someone through BS2, and do please give details as I’m fine with reading lol...
