Hi-ho! We’ve rolled out a patch to further improve your experience

v.1.0.2

Steam Achievements are now fixed! Here’s the list of previously unattainable achievements:

Shot Out - lose in a shoot out/penalty kick
Round Table - score with every player in a game
Oops - lose a season game
Can Stop, Will Stop - lose 10 season games
Goal Getter - score 10 goals (no longer triggered by opponents scoring goals)

Other fixes:

Fixed window scaling issues on high DPI displays.
Fixed a game launch issue with DEP enabled and resolved the glitchy cursor on high DPI displays.
Steam Rich Presence - Your friends now see you're playing Backyard Soccer '98.

To make sure you’re playing the latest version, follow these steps to download the Steam update:

Open the Steam application.
Click Library at the top.
Right-click on Backyard Soccer '98.
Select Properties from the drop-down menu.
Head to the Updates tab.
Choose how you’d like to update the game.
Steam will begin updating the game.

:warning: Note: While this patch continues to address some current issues, please remember that certain bugs from the original game may still exist. Without access to the original source code, some legacy problems remain beyond our control. But rest assured, we’re doing our best to make your experience as smooth as possible!

Missing game executable

After the game updated today, I can't launch due to missing the executable. I tried verifying the game files and it said all were validated, but it still won't launch.

Anyone know how to get this? I played a friendly match and scored with everyone on my team including the bench and the goalie.

Is the "Lose a season game" achievement broke?

Only asking cuz I lost my first game trying to learn the controls as well as the achievement says 0.0% of players have achieved it

Takes me back to my childhood playing this on our old windows 98 PC. If it is reliving a classic or your first time this is probably one of the best backyard games they released. From the Multiple Leagues to the Cup of all Cups World tournament this game brings back memories of a simpler time.

Game is just like I remembered. All the backyard games are amazing and worth the money. I remember being able to fit these on a floppy disk and play them on windows 98. I'm old now.
