Alpha Updates Changelog #4

Hello everyone, merry christmas and happy incoming new year, let's hope the years ahead could become better for us!
As for our game, we have recently done a few major updates to our game.

First and probably the most noticable one is the addition of:

Lighting System

Thanks to the Crystal Lighting System made by Kazan Games, we were able to implement a much more visually clean and satisfying shading and overall improving the quality of art. Lights react to walls, can merge with other lights and overall look pretty beautiful. We hope you enjoy the look of it as well and feel free to leave comments if you think this could be improved in some ways.

First Level: Factory

Metallic sealed doors, acid pools, running sawblades. This place is totally osha-approved

Now this is a very early alpha test of such level that we made within a week, but it gave us a lot of new ideas of how to exactly develop a nice feeling level, that's why we decided to instead of focusing on making one whole map, now reformating into semi-randomly generated levels, where whole level is separated into different rooms that interconnect between eachother. Right on the gif it shows just a pre-made concept level for it and things are still subject to change on it, but that's a start for us with that!

New weapon functions

We also started on experimenting with giving older weapons better functionality, shotguns are now chargable, as well as us adding a new type of shotgun... well rather a cannon. Or to be exact Railcannon, which is a new strong, but long reload weapon which is able to pierce through low-health enemies, wiping out a bunch of green ghosts or soul-eaters on the way. Also in addition electric shotgun is now able to charge up giant electric balls, that shock anything on it's path!

And other improvements, as well as Jolly Ghosts :3

We also added pretty neat character art to main menu

And made some enemies and stuff jolly for the ocassion (thanks zack)

Overall we're pretty happy with the work we've done this month and looking forward in bringing more stuff in the game, currently we're experimenting with items system, reworking the rooms and other things, we're really excited to show more and more as it comes to reality in our game. Alpha Updates Changelog #3

Heya been a hot minute since we posted an update on what's new in our game. We are still hard at work on everything and let us post the exact new stuff we've been working on.

New weapons:
- Fishing Rod - attaches to enemies and throws them into different directions
- Spear - double attack weapon, first attack dash forward spearing everyone in your path, second attack throw your spear into enemies
- Crystal Revolver - Explodes an area of enemies pushing them around
- Electric Shotgun - Bullets cause chain lighting between nearby enemies
New enemy: Skeleton Mage - repeats player's spells
Game enables bullet time on casting spells
New weapon select and ready-up menu
3 New spells: Tetherball, Explosive Bullets, Electric Bullets
Added early shop prototype
Added flinging enemies up into air on them being hit
Optimized navigation systems
Enemies now crumble into parts
New interaction system
You now dodge bullets at high speed
Made friend friendlier
And other reworks that I forgor

Apologies for the lack of changelog for previous months, I ate it. We'd also like to welcome our new team member Zancked into the game. Welcome.

As per usual we're posting the monthly changelog of the updates we've done in between August to September

Additions:

Added new base weapons - Baseball Bat and Ray-gun
New enemies - Guard Skeleton, Soul Eater, Purple Guy
A lot of new spells - Grenade Launcher, Ricochet, Fast-shooting, More Bullets Per Bullet, Passthrough Bullets, Piercing Bullets, Doppleganger and more
Online leaderboard for Endless mode
Added a Tutorial
Added Options
Added Deck building
Enemies take damage from being slammed into walls
Shadows
Effects system

Other stuff:

Reworked all old enemies - Red skeletons now stomp when player is close, Green ghosts attack in hordes and etc
Removed enemy collision damage
Fixed pathfinding
Fixed enemies getting stuck
Fixed enemies teleporting through walls
Trail effects indicate when an entity can deal collision damage
Reworked a lot of spells
Spells that you need to hold now have a green circle around the cursor
Active spell effects are shown under the player
Updated visuals of spells
Better physics
Music system
Overall bug fixes
Made the friend friendlier

And other changes we might've forgot

In the next 3 months we'll more focus on bringing out more of what we want the game to actually be, levels, story elements as well polishing things like main menu and other things out, although generally we just work on whatever we want, be it adding more spells, more weaponary, it will all come.

Thanks again to all the playtesters for valuable feedback and criticism and thanks to everyone who is keeping tabs on our game, we really endlessly appreciate all the support and just knowing that someone would enjoy our game <3
