I personally did not recommend the Vegas Pro 18 Steam Edition due to the insane amounts of constant crashes and hangs, and because of this was very hesitant on purchasing Pro 22.

However after trying Vegas Pro 22 for some hours I can say this is infinitely more stable. So far I've only had maybe 2 or 3 crashes in ~40 hours of editing.

Some very clear pros:

• The previewing seems to have been improved/optimized greatly, it's buttery smooth even with tons of effects, video tracks, overlays, transitions, and in full quality
  
• Rendering works MUCH faster. It seems to render almost in real-time. And this is with tons of tracks, FX, transitions, overlays, etc
  
• Almost no crashes
  
• There's also some great additions in terms of FX and what not.
  
• Color grading is great on this version
  
  The AI tools are still in baby shoes and to be honest I don't recommend getting this version of Vegas just for those. They're extremely slow and painful to use, and actually most of my crashes came from attempting to use them. Maybe they work better on more powerful GPUs with more VRAM. I'm currently on an RTX 3070.
