Kaya's Prophecy is joining Steam Next Fest!

Guess what, Kaya's Prophecy is going to be taking part in the Steam Next Fest running from 24th February to 3rd March! This is your chance to try out our unique village builder that challenges your strategic skills and resource management!

🎮 Our Next Fest demo has some upgrades:

Gameplay & Story

added a new introduction sequence, with an exploration and updated story with animated event
added a currency (cassowary coins) to buy stuff in the exploration shop
new quest
new event during exploration

This demo is just a taste of what's to come in the full release. We'd love to hear your feedback after you've played!

How to summon a villager?

I bought the ritual but cant figure out what to do with it and also cant find anything in game telling me what to do. Surrounding it with stones and stacking a soul and my villager on top of it didn't work (I tried a lotta things =p) Am I just missing something? Enjoyed every second of the demo till I got stuck...

It's Time to Unwrap Your Gifts, the Second Playtest Is Here!

The second Kaya's Prophecy playtest has arrived, and we're taking your tribal journey to the next level!
Build, explore, and battle in a vibrant roguelite where every decision shapes your tribe's destiny. Do your best to placate your god... who will be demanding some tasty treats! (though perhaps a slightly... untraditional Christmas dinner!) After our first playtest, we've refined the experience with some new features and bug fixes! Peep the at the bottom of this announcement

Whether you're a returning player or a new tribal leader, the second playtest awaits.

✨Features

Improved stacking physics of cards on your board
Changed how plans are kept between runs
Tweaked environment lights and colours
Added display settings, players can now play the game in windowed mode
Added the options/menu button in the fight screens and exploration screens
Animals now move around less
Reworked quests
Updated behaviour of pinned plans
Improved save and load systems

🐞Bug Fixes

Now displays the correct number of quests in chapter
No longer destroys exploration card with thunder.
Fixed an issue with a fight launching twice upon reloading, if quitting during a fight.
Fixed an issue where the vision menu would not open correctly if dropped on a villager

What are we expected to do in the village?

I built a fishing rod and stuff like that and I'm basically stuck in the village with nothing but my villager and the totem. I don't see any way to send the villager out or make him do anything but sit in base and wait for the god to get angry. Am I missing something?...

Can you/can we turn off the 'wind'?!

I fail to see why this feature is implemented in some games as it's really a low quality representation of "the wind". what i'm talking about is those constant wavy white lines streaking thru BOTH the combat and base building UI's. the other artwork is wonderful but these lines are, well, just cheesy. the mist going by looks fine so why are stupid wavy lines necessary? i mean, the flames don't flutter! :-) so i fail to see why you need to make it seem like the wind is blowing. i have medical reasons ...

[DEV] How 'bout a Bee once in a while?

a suggestion as you develop the game and work on balance. i'm in my current game now for at least 2 hours. i got a Bee early on when i couldn't use it and what's his name ate it. i can't remember if it was a battle reward or a gift when i fed Kalades. i do know it was not from a banana tree. Kalades asks for honey as a tribute too often for Bees to be so hard to get. I have opened countless boosters and have examined over TWENTY banana trees and NO BEE (to make a Hive). wood, wood, banana - wood, wo...
