v1.08 - 17 March (Happy St. Paddy's Day!)

- MENUS: Added a beautiful dotted border on the menu that switches colours back and forth! Tiny details like these add so much extra ~pizzaz~ and life to the game.
- Made some of the "MASTER" achievements less tedious to achieve
- Icebreaker: SUPER COOL new music!!!!!
- The Painful Platformer: fixed the door sound effect not playing when advancing to the next level
- Expert Exam: added a short delay before each option appears whenever you advance to the next question so that each option can be selected and shuffled without error

Okay, so here’s the deal with all of the other languages that the game was planning on supporting. Luckily I do know English (obviously), and also Swedish. But with all these 12 other languages (German, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Simplified/Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc etc...) This past week I was calculating how much each translation would cost, and it comes out to an estimate of like $200 per language? Not that my game is too text heavy to begin with. Now, I spent way too much money on this project and I am broke enough as it is. And unless there’s a website where people can translate your game for free, I don't see any of these languages being available in the game anytime soon.
UNTIL the other day when I had the idea that I could potentially just auto-translate the game with Google? And I can just put a warning on the screen saying that the translation was done by computer, so it’s not going to be 100% accurate (especially with CJK). Listen I know this method is cheap, but hey it’s better than nothing, right?

The game's official manual, soundtrack, and Linux version are all still coming soon! After Version 1.10, I will be taking a break from updates for a while.

New Update! v1.07 - March 11th

- Updated the achievement icons! Also added two BRAND NEW secret achievements... 🤫
- Disco At Dusk: adjusted the press tolerance so that both early and late inputs for the arrows feel more balanced now (hopefully now it should feel better to play)
- When Pigs Can Fly: Added cute little honeybees that buzz around, along with a beautiful new rendition of the music!
- Odd Hue Out: apparently people thought this minigame was boring, so guess what?? I just added a fast timer to it so now you only have 5 SECONDS TO GET THE COLOR OR ELSE YOU LOSE!!!!!!!! How's that for a challenge huh?
- Recker: an off-duty cop that was supposed to be watching the prison inmates seems to have fallen asleep on the job... also, a collision issue that some people have encountered should now be fixed.
- Smiley Sticker Search: added film reel decoration onto the screen! now the mini game feels more like it's in a movie theatre.
- Mr. Goofer lost some weight on the title screen and looks less like a freaky animatronic (he's supposed to be an actual gopher)
- Config: Made links clickable! now the Svinta website actually pops up when you click on the contact link.
- Added the "right click" (B) input to the controls on the main menu (it wasn't listed before).

Stay tuned for the Soundtrack release, the Linux version, an official guide/manual for the game that will be coming out soon, and a bunch of other stuff!

v1.06 (March 2)

- Redesigned the icons for ‘Goofball Pinball’ and ‘Coin Catch’ (it may take some getting used to, but I think they look a lot better)

- Also fixed up the look of a bunch of sprites, and added LOTS of new decorations here and there (for example, a dartboard in the pool room, a clown horn in the claw machine, an electric guitar and a toy drum as instruments in the disco room, and 80s decor such as a Rubik’s cube) small decorations/details like these really add life to the game

- Added a bunch of 8-bit sound effects throughout the game, to massively improve its atmosphere and make it really feel like you’re at a coin-op attraction

- Fixed a small issue that I didn't realize was happening until now (nothing too serious, just an oopsie lol) where the "coin insert" sound effect was still playing during a room transition, even when you're advancing to the next level within a minigame (it should now only play when entering a minigame)

- Pill Puzzle: added colorblind accessibility to the game, each pill type is now labeled with its own corresponding letter

- The Ball Pit Battle: added the “Punch-out” inspired sound effects (which is actually my voice lol)

- Expert Exam: revised the questions up a bit, and also further along into the game the four options now get randomly shuffled, so you actually have to read the question instead of relying on muscle memory (makes it more interesting and just a little bit harder, now you have to use your brain some more to think what the answer is!)

- Removed Gooferbrine

v1.05 (16 February)

- DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND... instead of unlocking each minigame one by one, now you unlock TWO AT A TIME!
So now, the game is less linear and you have the freedom to choose which of the two newly unlocked games that you want to play first.

And if that other minigame is too hard or you don't want to reach its goal, you can just skip it and come back to it later.
(But in order to actually unlock the finale and beat the whole entire game, you still need to reach all of the 24 minigame goals, of course.)

[Personally I prefer doing all of the games back-to-back, since otherwise the game goes by rather quickly and you could kinda skip through the whole thing, but I suppose the customer/player is always right... so there you go!]

- ALSO DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND: In the update previously, I lowered the goal point-requirement thresholds a bit so that each minigame is less long/fatiguing to complete, but some people have been saying that they're still too high... so now I just lowered them even more— AGAIN.

Some examples: Reaching the goal for "Whack-A-Gopher" should take you no more than 1 minute now. "Odd Hue Out"? Now that one takes half as long to complete, with a 50 pt. goal instead of 100. So now they're not as "stretched out". I suppose people really like their minigames to be rather "mini"...

- Added TWO BRAND NEW LEVELS to "A Gridlock Maze"! These new (optional) levels are larger, and need to be completed in order to get the master medal. I also adjusted the speed of dash mode, it's a bit slower to allow for more precise turns within the maze.

- Goofball Pinball: some people thought this game was WAY too hard, so I adjusted the gravity/physics of the pinball, now it moves around a lot more and goes a bit crazy. The physics system that the pinball uses is a bit hard to perfect, since there's a lot of tweaking and fine-tuning variables involved, but I tried the best I could to fix it up.

- Smarty Sort: one person said that sometimes the game wasn't registering whenever they click on a Smarty in order to drag it (?), especially when the Smartys start to move really quickly - so now, the Smartys move a bit slower whenever you're hovering over them with your mouse. So you should definitely be able to click 'em!

- ‘Icebreaker’: the snowball in the cube crush section now bounces around a lot more/is a bit faster

- 'Disco At Dusk' should be playable no matter what now, no more "oops, file error!". The game should also be working fine on Steam Deck, although I have to test it out to make sure (which is kinda hard for me because I don't have a Steam Deck (yet).

- Downer Diver, When Pigs Can Fly: now these up-n'-down games only have 4 lives instead of 5, since people said that they were way too easy.

- By default, the "ENABLE FILTER" option is now off. This is just in case a player's device cannot handle the maths behind the VHS/CRT shader graphics.

- Expert Exam: added four new questions!

- Trivial Timed Tasks: the toys in the "Gift Grabber" claw machine move around more wacky (wackily?) now! The flies in "Insect Issue" are also slower and give you less of a headache when they're buzzing around.

By the way.. thanks to all of those who have reviewed the game and written posts/articles and stuff about it! I really appreciate the positive reviews. :) Now, I do realize that less-than-positive reviews are inevitable... but whenever I hear any kind of criticism towards the game, I immediately go back and try my best to fix it. So not only does the game get better, the bad review also then becomes obsolete! It's a win-win.

Especially for my first game though at 19yo, I think I did a pretty good job. I mean, look at one of the best filmmakers of all time, Stanley Kubrick: his first movie only has a 5.3/10 review on IMDb... then his later works were literal masterpieces and he became the G.O.A.T. director! Point is... I learned a lot making this game, and it's getting better all the time. And I will try to make any potential future projects of mine a lot better. Anyways, thanks for reading this update and listening to my ramblings!

(7 February) v1.03

- Improved "Whack-A-Gopher"- I added lives to the first part so that it's more like a game, now you to whack every rodent you see. It also has new music "Pop Goes the Gopher"!
- Recker construction workers flash you to indicate that you shouldn't touch them 😳
- Lowered/adjusted the amount of points needed to reach goals in various mini games — I’m really trying to have it be a good balance/middle ground between the goal and the amount of time played
- Added Swedish language (någon annan som talar svenska? I live in America so one of my most useless skills actually helped out!)

(4 February) I fixed an issue (that happened when you reached the goal in a mini game) that was happening because of the issue that I fixed yesterday... 😭 sorry about that 😅

(3 February) Fixed a bit of an issue with the rhythm game.

HELLO EVERYBODY! MY GAME IS NOW OFFICIALLY RELEASED! WOOHOO, it's party time! 🥳🎉🕹️🎈

This is the initial release! Version 1.0! Now, obviously just like with many other games, I’m still going to keep making small fixes and changes to the game. But right now the whole experience is in one complete package, everything is in tip-top shape and should be working properly, and the game is ready to be played! (If you had access to v0.9, there was a minor issue with the leaderboards/scoring, but that's all fixed now!)

You can buy and play the game on Windows RIGHT NOW!!!! I really hope you all enjoy it. I will also try to get the Linux version up and running within the upcoming week!

To those who were helping me or supporting the game, thanks so much! I can't believe I even managed to make this game and release it, against all odds. I can now say that I released my own video game :)
