Change in Trading Principles in the Game

The game's trading system is undergoing a fundamental change. From now on, all trading will take place within the game, while only coins of various denominations will be traded on the Steam marketplace.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why were these changes made?
- We are gradually shifting from Steam inventories to our own in-game system to optimize systems and crafting. After the transition, we will completely remove items from Steam, keeping only coins for trading.
Can I still sell my items?
- Yes, you can sell your items in the in-game Marketplace tab.
Where can I get coins for trading?
- Basic coins can be converted by clicking the plus icon next to your Pencoins (Bronze, Silver, Gold).

What can be sold on the Steam marketplace for money?
- Currently, exclusive high-rarity items and Nortopia coins are available for trade. Coins will remain permanently, as they serve as a means of exchange. Other items will gradually disappear from the marketplace.

A scheduled trade suspension has occurred for most consumables

Dear players, today marks the first scheduled suspension of the majority of low-cost consumables from the Steam marketplace. You will still be able to trade these items in-game using the in-game currency.

Please note that we are testing a shift from trading a wide variety of items to a unified trading currency to resolve several technical and user experience issues

These changes are strictly experimental and may be reversed if found to be inconvenient

In-game Currency

We're launching a series of updates affecting the game's trade and economy system. Most cheap consumables such as Logs, Fish, Water, Fire, etc. will no longer be traded on Steam and will instead be handled within the in-game trade system. A new type of currency is being introduced: Surprise Coin

Currency Exchange Rate:

You can exchange your Path to Nortopia expansion coins for the in-game currency and back without any loss in the following section

You can also find a link to the Steam Market to purchase additional coins

As you may have noticed, this solves the issue of exchange rate differences and allows you to trade items without overpaying due to currency conversions, as well as buy the cheapest consumables for less than Steam’s minimum price limit.

Pingo is now playable in-game

The item list will be updated roughly every 2–3 weeks. You can get chips to play Pingo by owning Miss Croupier or purchasing them on the Steam Market

Other Changes

- Great Penguin icons have been updated
- Disposable Syringes can now be refilled and used

June 20, 2024, marked the release of Egg Surprise, and we have come a long way since then.

Today, something special is happening—we have changed the game engine from Unity to Web technologies.

What does this mean for you? A new design, new mechanics, and, most importantly, improved stability:

The website is now integrated directly into the game
Client localization has been added (we are in the process of improving the translation)
The "Energizer" booster has been introduced—this item increases drop chances from clicks and provides new loot

We understand that such major changes may take some time to get used to, so we ask for your patience in fully experiencing the new client—it is truly more convenient for long-term use.

Egg Surprise 2.0 Announcement + Path Notes + Trader Update

Dear players, it's been a while since we shared exciting news, and now we're back with an announcement!

For a long time, we’ve been working on improving the game model, and soon we will be ready to present an upgraded game client.

Improved interface and client functionality. The game will now feature batch crafting, an enhanced inventory with a search function, and many other small UI improvements.
Game performance optimization. The game now consumes significantly less device memory.
Reduced game size from 150 to 20.
Localization support: En, Ru, sZH, PT.
Support for GIF animations for items.
Opening of the player market https://egg-surprise.shop/market directly in the game.

New Mechanics in the Client:

A paid energizer that increases drop chances from clicks and adds a pool of new items to the drop table.
A mechanic for using slots with items from the DLC *Heroes of Egg Surprise*, which will affect crafting results with multipliers, increased chances, and sometimes unique loot.

Game Update Logs as of 24.03.25:

Yeti expeditions into snowy forests in search of children.
Announcement of beehives.
Completion of the Maslenitsa event and receiving Matryoshkas.
Changes to wood gathering balance. Introduction of carts and new conditions for logging, including deaths and tool destruction.
Implementation of aquariums in the game with fish breeding and anglerfish.

[1.3.82] - Vampire Tokens, The One, Aquarium, Pancakes

List of Major Changes 1.3.82

In the Styria DLC, the drop system has been changed, and now there are vampire tokens with six rarity levels. The tokens will be used for exchanges for various items, including old collections.
A starter energizer has been added for newcomers, granting access to the DLC for the first week and adding extra drops from clicks.
A new item, "The One" has been added to the in-game store. It allows players to request a custom character design from the developers, which will be issued from this egg.
Miss Croupier has been removed from the in-game store.
The mechanics of the Unknown have been revealed. In the future, it will be able to transform into one of three Mimic rarities and then create an exact copy of any item with the "Character" tag of the corresponding rarity.
The construction of Aquariums has begun through blueprint creation, along with a new blacksmithing branch.
In honor of Maslenitsa, the ability to cook pancakes has been added.

1.3.7 Northern Trader, Croupier, Exchange Booth

Changes in Update 1.3.7

Added categories to the crafting tab for the **Northern Trader**: buy, sell, exchange. These allow players to buy and sell items for **Northopia Pencoins**, as well as exchange coin denominations from bronze to gold.
A new character, **Miss Croupier**, has been added to the in-game shop. The Wheel of Fortune mechanic will be implemented for her soon.
Invitation links have been removed from the game, as they are no longer supported by the referral system. Promo codes still function as usual.
A welcome bonus for new players is being tested, which boosts drop rate chances.
A major optimization of crafting queues has been implemented, significantly reducing delays in item distribution. Unfortunately, this comes with a side effect of a more confusing item distribution history.

The Northern Trader will update his list of goods and orders approximately every two weeks.
