• Improved 3D Sound System

The sound system now includes Doppler-effect simulation, adding dynamic realism to the audio. Nyooom!

• Minimap Scaling

You can now scale the minimap up or down with F3 and F4.

• Station Trading Visibility

Stations now display from a distance whether they will buy your goods, making trade routes easier to plan.

• Feature Adjustments for Demo Players

Some features are now unavailable in the demo version to better reflect the full game's capabilities.

• Capital Ship Arrival Audio

Capital ships now have a dedicated sound effect when they warp into the system.

• Audio Reorganization

All audio assets have been reassigned to the correct channels for better sound management.

• Inventory Overhaul

The inventory system has been reworked for improved functionality and usability.

• Freighter Bug Fixed

Freighters should no longer spawn random cubes in proximity to the player.

This marks the final full patch of 2024 as we transition into holiday mode. For the remainder of the year, we will only release hotfixes if urgent issues arise. When we return on January 10th with the next regularily scheduled patch, expect feature-focused updates to continue building upon the foundation we’ve created.

Mark Sibly, the brilliant creator of the engine that powers this game, passed away this month. His work revolutionized indie game development for many, giving countless developers the tools to turn dreams into reality. Personally, I have used Mark’s software for more than half my life. From my earliest programming experiments to building this very universe, Mark’s vision and ingenuity, his passion for development, they all have been a constant companion.

Mark wasn’t just a titan in the technical sense; he was a generous mentor and a source of inspiration. His engines empowered so many of us to create not just games but memories, careers, and communities. Losing him is a tremendous blow to us, but his legacy endures in every project born in his works.
