Pagan Min makes for a good bad guy. Typical Far Cry formulae, you can't really go wrong. If you like blowing ♥♥♥♥ up then make sure to tag along with Hurk. Sabal and Amita didn't really win me over, Good game overall.

Far Cry® 4 takes everything that made Far Cry 3 a classic and dials it up to 11 — bigger world, more weapons, new vehicles, and a villain that’s as stylish as he is psychotic. Set in the fictional Himalayan country of Kyrat, the game delivers an explosive mix of civil war, spiritual conflict, and open-world mayhem.

You play as Ajay Ghale, a young man returning to his homeland to scatter his mother’s ashes. What begins as a personal pilgrimage turns into an all-out rebellion against the self-appointed king of Kyrat: Pagan Min — a pink-suited dictator with a flair for theatrics and a habit of stealing the spotlight.

Pagan Min, voiced with charismatic menace by Troy Baker, is a magnetic antagonist. While he’s not as central or deeply explored as Vaas from Far Cry 3, his unpredictability and occasional charm make him memorable.

Ajay, though less expressive as a protagonist, serves as a functional anchor for the player, with the narrative built around choices between two opposing rebel leaders, each with questionable morals — adding a layer of political ambiguity to your actions.

Far Cry 4 refines the series’ signature open-world design with tons of freedom and chaos:

-Expansive Map: Kyrat is a beautiful, vertical playground of snow-capped peaks, lush jungles, and crumbling temples.

-Liberate Outposts & Bell Towers: Signature series mechanics return, rewarding exploration and domination.

-Ride Elephants, Fly Gyrocopters: Yes, you can crash a mini-helicopter into an enemy base, or ride an elephant straight through the front gate.

-Robust Arsenal: Guns, bows, explosives, and even auto-crossbows — the choice is yours.

The co-op mode allows another player to join in open-world shenanigans (though not main story missions), which adds a whole new level of fun and unpredictability.

There are also side activities galore: hunting, racing, arena combat, drug-fueled hallucination missions (hello, Shangri-La), and more.

Kyrat is stunning. Ubisoft did an incredible job blending rugged natural landscapes with cultural and architectural detail. From hand-painted prayer flags to ancient statues lost in the mountains, the setting feels rich and alive.

The audio design is immersive — ambient jungle noises, rebel radio chatter, and a culturally inspired soundtrack give the world weight and identity. Pagan Min’s taunting phone calls also add a darkly comedic edge to the quiet moments.

Far Cry® 4 doesn’t reinvent the formula — it perfects it. While it closely mirrors Far Cry 3 in structure and tone, the added layers of verticality, co-op, and a politically charged narrative make it stand out in its own right.

It’s easy to get lost in Kyrat’s chaos, and harder still to leave it behind. It might not be as narratively impactful as its predecessor, but it offers more gameplay variety, freedom, and fun in every sense.
