It has been more than a month since the release of the Equiverse demo! Equiverse has over 400 wishlists and the Disord community has been growing in number and into a positive and constructive environment. I tried to listen to all the feedback as much as possible and like to show this to you in another Quality of life update!

Check out the list of improvements below!

Camera movement is now adjustable through the options menu when in a level (You can adjust camera speed and inversion)
Pablo flies faster and can also collect crystal shards
Weapon upgrade is introduced one level later (level 1-4) to balance progression and make the weapon upgrade feel more needed
A level can now be restarted from the pause menu
Text in the companion selection menu is now dynamic so that you can see exactly how many companions you have left to select
Added Toby the squirrel! Toby throws food on the ground for rabbits and is unlocked after completing level 1-3. Betsy the bee queen will make her way to the next world, so she is not completely abandoned!
Multiple enemies spawn at level 1-3 and level 1-5 to increase difficulty
Options menu overhaul to make more options possible in the future.
You can now escape to the main menu from the companion reveal screen and the companion selection screen
Rabbits grow faster and more importantly, eat quicker, so you are not staring for 5 minutes at your screen in the early game. Overall early game is now quicker

Bug fixes:

Camera can't be moved and pause menu can't be opened and closed when in a submenu of the pause menu.
Betsy the bee queen sound effect can't be heard randomly in different scenes anymore
Fixed a gamebreaking bug when the player exits the companion selection menu and try to continue playing from the main menu

Quality of life changes and small bug fixes

A lot of people have been playing Equiverse and I couldn't be happier with the positive feedback it received! A week ago I released the demo and I have tried to listen to all the feedback I got. To celebrate the success of the demo in the first week I wanted to update the game and already implement some of the feedback!

Here is a list

Quality of life

From level 1-2, players get more starting Leafpoints to speed up the early game.
Added How to play tutorial with short videos to give you a relaxed way to learn the game at your own pace before starting! Also accesible from the pause menu in a level!
Added mouse input for camera movement. Hold right mouse button to rotate and scroll the mousewheel to zoom in and zoom out.
Q and E keyboard keys can now be used to zoom in and zoom out.
Changed camera angles to give a better view of the ecosystem!
Changing the graphics quality to medium or low makes a significantly bigger impact on your performance!

Bug fixes

Fixed a bug where in the main menu the hitbox of buttons seems to be too low
Made interpunction across UI persistent
Fixed a bug where the button in the companion scene can be pressed multiple times in a row which makes the audio sound a bit strange

Couple collision related bugs

- Rabbits would get stuck in the teleport circle and die of starvation - Foxes would get stuck on top of carrot piles and die of starvation unless a rabbit ate the carrots under them.

Bugs

1) If you do not have any rabbits and just foxes, and you have less than $100, the game will force you to go to the main menu, despite having eggs and shards being released which will more than cover the $100. Don't force the player to abandon the level until it reaches the point where they literally cannot recover. 2) A fox flashing red got stuck twitching in the grass next to the portal until eventually dying. Despite baby rabbits running around nearby. 3) Sometimes the baby rabbits won't leave the pedes...
