BBEE was the gateway drug, where character designs piqued my interest (loved Es's crests and Noel's smooth moves).

I've never thought I'm gonna spend almost 60 hours:

• in a single player mode in a fighting game
  
• where 90% of that time is a visual novel

You start this one with a ticket to your teenage years:

• edgy protagonist
  
  • ...with a little idea of what's going on--reckon this one's better match for my today's old self
• absolute altrock banger in the intro from 00s--which I've never skipped
  
• ability to press buttons and see the flashy result=have genuine fun with the game
  
• catchy phrases, like: "caaaaaarnage scissors!" and "rebel one, action!"

Later you meet all these other likable characters--which is what made me stick until the end, 100% completing each story chapter. Clearly you see, how much love was put in this one. Devs know these characters look silly sometimes, and they say: "hey, let's have a laught about it, together, my broth--".

Took me a month to finish: I've only been able to play 3-5 stories on a weekend, and the way the main story told is a good fit for this, so don't turn away thinking you wouldn't be able to grasp 20-50 hours of VN with short and rare play sessions.

I'm so glad I've played this game and I cherish the memory of it--as a memory of ones youth.

This classic still holds up.
