Scunners Run has some potential, but makes some crippling control mistakes that need to be fixed. The cursor is sluggish, moving and accelerating behind the player's input instead of with them, disconnecting you from the game. This is a surprisingly common dev mistake on controller, but here it affects the mouse too, which is inexplicable. Sluggish aim is not ok, especially in a fast action shooter, where responsiveness is a fundamental element, not a design question.

For example, let's say your move your controller aim stick from west straight to northeast. The correct behavior is for the reticle to be at precisely the same screen position as your stick position throughout that motion, from leaving when you leave, to arriving when you arrive. This connects you to the aim movement, and feels good. Bad behavior is pretty much anything else. Here, after you move, the cursor starts accelerating (already losing connection with your position), moseys around the outside of a circle (now taking a different direction/path entirely from your input movement), and finally, as it approaches the stick position you wanted to aim at and have already reached, it begins to slow down, making its arrival not only that much later, but changing up the timing on you to throw off your anticipation of having your shot lined up. On mouse, that deceleration leaves the cursor in a different position than where you stopped, and the various issues just leave the mouse feeling like it's in a different place from the reticle.

Does any of that sound like the "fast, twitchy shooting" the store page describes? Sure, you can call me a picky gamer, but there is right and wrong, and this is simple, basic stuff. You do not slow down and change the player's input and break their connection with the play. If a dev ties the camera to the cursor (which, FYI, this one does, and there's no option to disable that if it bothers you, like there's no aim assist option, nor remapping), and they find the aim-look too jerky, the camera needs damping, not the player.

A twitch action game that gets the action wrong needs to be fixed. Even more so for a simple action game, that doesn't have much else to go on for the player experience. Fundamentals are almost the whole game here, and they need to be nailed to pass muster. Scunners Run does not.
