The trailer sold me a dream: I thought I was about to relive that true horror, the kind that makes your hands shake, your heart race and want to look far fro the screen. I remembered the feeling of playing SCP: Containment Breach or Alien: Isolation, and I convinced myself that this time, I would tremble again.




What I found was a festival of cheap jumpscares. Sure, they made me flinch a couple of times, but that’s surprise, not terror. The atmosphere lacks that heavy tension that creeps under your skin, no silence that weighs on you, no darkness that unsettles you.




Visually, it looks fine, and the story, though strange and rushed, does make sense within its 50-minute runtime. But none of that matters when the essence, THE FEAR, is simply not there.




As a short experience, it’s fine. But as a horror game, it fails. And the saddest part is that I allowed myself to believe I’d finally feel that genuine fear I haven’t found in years. Not this time.
