I corrupted the messenger of love but didn't get the unit. Is this a bug?

It seems really tough to get this done when you have 2 other bosses and the flowers need to be corrupted 4 times. I’m also not sure how many flowers you need to corrupt to get the saviour. I assume at least 8 flowers which is a lot. Any tips or advice is highly welcome....

Tried to play on steam deck and after on pc - in the end they have different progress and saves.
