Explore Trappist-1 in the Space Exploration Fest

The Steam Space Exploration Fest runs from September 2 to 9. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your reviews and comments. It’s amazing to see that Trappist resonates with so many of you!

It's been a while since the last update, so I want to share with you what I've been working on.

Upcoming update

The next update expands on the Zima story line. It includes a new alien race that finds a new home under the sea after you've cleared the ice at Zima.

- New buildings for Zima, above and below water
- New resources and consumption goods
- Researchable technology upgrades that transfer to New Game+

After that

Much of the feedback on the discussion forum and in the reviews focuses on the camera controls and Quality of Life (QoL) features.
This will be the focus of the update after the upcoming content update. Specifically, this patch will focus on:

- Adding a colony overview panel
- Improved trade route UX
- Smoother camera movement and zoom

I'd love to hear any other suggestions, and thanks for playing!

Just finished, suggestions

So the game is cool and fun, but here's some stuff 1. Landing Docks on the Ark, instead of Landing Pads. It makes no sense, we already have Docks, so we should build more of those. While Pads take up space, and why use those when we have docks. 2. Shipyard on the Ark: I'm not sure if I just didn't unlock that myself, but I couldn't build one on the Ark, and the Ark is I think the number 1 place you would want the shipyard to be at, from a physics perspective. A couple of suggestions about viewing controls or maybe some things I missed

I really like this game, well done! I'm being a bit slowed down by the excessively fine camera controls and QoL options I couldn't find. - Pan and zoom on both keyboard and keyboard is too slow. The wasdqefv keys have an attack and sustain curve to them that is a bit too excessive. I think holding shift to pan and zoom faster would help. Perhaps make the attack and sustain curves optional or make them shorter, more responsive. Right-click panning is faster as it uses the mouse movement ratio, but gra...

Cheats and console commands?

The store page lists cheats and console commands as features, but I haven't seen anything about this posted. Are there cheats and console commands currently in the game, or is that on the "to-do" list?

Change inventory amounts with Arrow Keys

I only noticed this as I was packing up my inventory, at the end of the game, but the inventory transfers can be controlled with the Arrow Keys for much better accuracy.

Can you turn off the tutorial tips?

I find the tutorial tips to be a real pain. They take up a lot of space on the right side of the screen and are a visual distraction with the word boxes appearing. Can I turn them off entirely and make my own mistakes?
