I waited for TKIW to come out for months but when it did it sat on my HD for at least 2 months. I just have a backlog and I generally have a hard time getting into other games outside of my favorites, so I basically deprived myself of this playable little gem. It was a slow burn type of habit I picked up here but glad I stuck with it.

When you can at the start, just kick out all the rich people and your game will totally OPEN up! I am finding this to be a deceptively deep RTS rougelike. Which I actually catch myself looking forward to trying new strats when not in game.

At first, I thought the graphics were too simple and boring but have completely changed my mind. I am addicted to the little sprites, explosions, animations, design, and art. Checking out the battles that unfold in front of my keep is interesting and satisfying. It reminds me of the animations in old Nintendo games and some of my fav anime scenes. The animations just look....custom crafted? And I like it. Some things I had to just "go" with like...Duck Riders? Pumpkin Heads? Lunatics? Not mainstream combat units but now I STRIVE to get those units on the battlefield. LOL. Oh and a very cool nod to everyone's favorite starfish!

The puzzle like city builder side of TKIW has me hooked too. The way requirements, or recipes, for your combat units and buildings is handled is so simple, but yet, brilliant. Just try it, give it a chance - I am sure you will like it!

Would be most excellent to see in TKIW 2 (because you know we will someday) that the battling sprites be drawn so they can go in 8 different directions instead of just left/right/glide up and down. But keep the same style. MY only wish!

ONLY 2 MAPS ??? COME ON U CAN DO BETTER !! CANT U GIVE US MORE LIKE VOLCANO MAP, ICY SNOW FIELD MAP, RIVER AND CANAL MAP WHERE MONSTERS CAN POP OUT OF WATER ! PLSS GIVE US MORE THE GAME IS GOOD JUST NOT ENOUGH CONTENT. I'll gladly pay for more dlc

Very fun game that definitely invokes the just one more try feeling.
