We’re very excited to show you what the developers at Shiny Shoe have been working on!

If you’re already familiar with the series, Monster Train 2 builds upon the classic roguelike-deckbuilder gameplay introduced in the first game, where you’ll battle enemy factions vertically across your train’s tiered rooms to defend your Pyre at the top.

If you’re new to Monster Train, don’t worry! It’s easy to learn, but hard to master. Collecting cards, customizing your deck, and developing strategies is half the fun!

In this demo, you’ll get to play with two of Monster Train 2’s five new clans: the Banished and the Pyreborne. Each clan has its advantages, and experimentation is key to survival. There is much to be learned, even in crushing defeat.

Although the demo features a full run experience, a significant amount of content is locked, and you won’t be able to fight many of the new Titan-corrupted enemies that will be included in the full game. We’re saving that punishment for later…

To celebrate today’s exciting announcement—we’re inviting you to hang out with the Shiny Shoe team! CEO Mark Cooke and Creative Director Andrew Krausnick will be hosting two livestreams today at 11:00 AM PT / 2:00 PM ET and 4:00 PM PT / 7:00 PM ET over on Twitch[twitch.tv].

They’ll be playing the demo, answering your questions, and chatting with the community. Plus, other team members will be hanging out in chat—stop by and say hi!

Why a second game?

You (Shiny Shoe) already made this game once, what was the motivation behind making it again? I very much enjoyed the first game and want to know the intention behind the second. Is this intended to replace the first game, as a sort-of upgrade to it? Fel's Vanguardian Path

Been playing the demo and having a blast so far, win most of my runs with Fenix and Fel. Having tried all the the champion upgrade paths now I feel like I'm missing something with Fel's Vanguardian path, the one where she gives valour on revenge. Throughout the run this path always feels weaker than Saviour and Unchained, early and late. How do you guys play using this path?...

Banished WAY OP

-Fel with savior turns the whole row into uber tank -being able to combine equipment and dup it is way too strong. i can consistently on the last 2 or even 3 fights have 3 goons on the 3rd floor each doing 250-400 dmg per swing and all with multi hit x2 or x3 and more than 100 armor by the 3rd round and close to 500 armor by the end. maybe i havent played enuf with the Firefly dragon dudes but the coulpe runs i did try had nothing remotely comparable....

Much harder than the original

It's just a demo, but it was fun and challenging. I can see there is a TON of content that will be in the full game that is missing in the demo. Took me 5 runs to beat it. I had one spell point left, had a dancer, a buffed spearman, and a dragon whose only usual function was to die to generate dragon hoard. I was about 150 points away from killing the boss, and all I had left was an advance card. just swaping the dancer with the advance card turned out to be *JUST* enough to beat seraph. my stupid spe...

Dragon Hoard

Is there anyway to get above 13 eggs? I know there are 2 relics that give max hoard but the text saying to increase max hoard to unlock seems like bait/impossible in the demo.
