I had a blast with this game back in 2008. I often tell myself I'm not the sentimental type but... it will always have a place in my heart! :)

I had a lot of fun playing this game when it came out. I remember setting up my first ship. Real tanky. Could soak up and dish out tons of firepower but was very slow. Next up was a turret/wall/obstacle ship. Was a great little defensive ship. Then there was the stealth ship. I got popped too many times by others stealth ships, so I finally broke down and designed one myself. The balance of this game felt great and the community was great as well. "Unable to connect could not contact the Starport Server - it's probably down. This happens rarely, and you should probably just try again." For several days. Anybody know what's going on with this? Are the servers coming back up?

does it have a single player component? as far as it seems this game is as dead as can be.
