We’ve been reading player feedback; apparently, some users see The Backrooms Regret as only 0B in size, and when they download it, there’s nothing in the game folder. As far as we know, not all players are experiencing this issue. We've already contacted Steamworks support to find a solution.

After several months of waiting, we finally bring you a huge update.

Below is the full list of changes, additions, and improvements in this update (V0.1.0.4).

New:

-New options:
HUD: Buttons to show/hide basic elements.
Aspect Ratio: Toggle between 16:9, 16:10, 4:3, Ultrawide, and Super Ultrawide.
Graphic Quality: Predefined selection: Low, Medium, High, and Epic.
Visual Options: Toggle motion blur and blur on/off.
Master Volume: Slider bar.
Mouse or Joystick Sensitivity: Slider bar.
Invert Axes: Checkbox for X or Y Axis.
Cinetosis: Checkbox to reduce camera movement. Checkbox to disable shakes.

-New difficulties when starting the game:
Explorer Mode (Easy): Enemies are slower and less perceptive.
Intruder Mode (Original): The standard experience.
Paranoia Mode (Hard): Increased enemy speed and perception.

-New crouch mechanic.

-New auto-save system.

-Dynamized initial chase based on player feedback.

-Completely recreated and improved main menu.

-New object interaction system.

-New In-Game interface.

-Recreation of the pause menu, with an Inventory and Objectives.

-New English voice acting.

-New translations in Catalan, Spanish, and Italian.

-New achievements.

Improvements:

-Collision fixes and improvements.

-Enemy AI improvements.

-Gameplay-to-Cutscene and Cutscene-to-Gameplay transition improvements.

-Asset Dressing and environment decoration improvements.

-The second area of the game completely recreated with new areas to explore, new mechanics, as well as new interactable objects and extra content.

Fixes:

-Entity bug fixes.

-Lighting bug fixes.

-General bug fixes.

All of this and more can now be found in the new update for The Backrooms Regret!
Those who already had the game in their library can enjoy this update and all the upcoming content (i.e., the remaining Parts) for free.
