While this game certainly has potential, and I can imagine it being a lot of fun in multiplayer, I would not recommend this game in its current state if you intend on playing it single player.

It seems like this game is balanced around having four people running around doing tasks because playing alone means you simply do not have time to engage with many of the mechanics. Even with just seating for 12 and with 3 of the NPC assistants, just pouring drinks and making alcohol occupies most of my time. I don’t have time to grow my own crops, much less foraging/hunting, doing deliveries or any of the questlines.
The core of the game is customers will sit down at a table, and you will go up to them and take their order. You will then have to gather the necessary ingredients and prepare whatever they ordered before bringing it to them. Once they are done, they will leave their dirty dishes at the table which you will then collect and wash. On top of this you will have to sweep your tavern, fix machines when they break, refill your dishwashers with water and kick out drunk customers. This is a lot, and it does not take many customers to completely overwhelm you.

Now the game lets you automate some of it, you can buy helpers that can preform a limited set of tasks. Cleaners will sweep for you and bring dirty dishes to the dishwasher. Then there are waiters which will take orders and deliver food and drink. While this is definitely helpful and allows you to serve more guests by yourself, you can only have 16 items on hand by default and you cannot increase this number until you are level 11 (several hours), meaning you cannot leave for very long without running out of food. These helpers are also very expensive at 1800 coins. For reference, most early game food only gives you a profit of 10-20 coins and the mid late game stuff is like 50. At level 8 you will unlock the automatic washing machine which removes the washing minigame you have to play, but that is the extent of the automation.
If you want to do hunting, gathering or farming which is necessary to make more complex recipes that yield more money, you will need to close your tavern. However, the increase in profit does not make up for the lost sales, so you are better off just sticking to the core loop.

With just one more player you can easily have one player managing the tavern while the other gathers supplies which would massively increase your profit margins, and with even more players you would have even more options, so I can see it being a lot of fun, but in single player its really difficult to get stuff done.

While I hope this game continues to be updated into something great, this game is supposedly a full release. However it definitely feels like early access. The upper area of your tavern is inaccessible and there is not a tone of content here. They have done a few updates, but there is no roadmap and it is unclear how much they plan to do.

This game has a great thing going and then has you spend half your time doing something else instead. I actually do recommend this game on the condition you have friends to play with and don't mind making your own entertainment, but the game by itself doesn't deliver.

The actual tavern simulator part of the game is great. It was simple but worked well, and i enjoyed serving customers while keeping the place stocked. The VIP clientele and delivery system encourage you to maintain some level of variety in your storage too, which allows the game to overcome the problem this kind of game often runs into where serving a single "best" dish ends up being your entire game. Also, the owls are cute.

The bit where it falls apart is literally every other part of the game. It's supposed to be a tavern simulator but it has you roaming around the countryside doing boring fetch quests in order to unlock things and progress. The combat is serviceable but otherwise uninspired and boring. The dialogue is okay at times, but the majority of it feels like it was generated by a neural network, not to mention trying too hard to be funny.

Also there are some misc oddities that aren't really demerits but just make the whole thing feel unfinished:

• There are a decent number of potions you can brew in this game but many of them feel pointless or insufficiently useful.
  
• As many others have noted, you cannot unlocked the second story of the tavern despite it being visible and present the entire time.
  
• Some furniture items, notably the pro-grill and double stove seem to have no purpose over the cheaper/lower tier counterparts.
  
• You can buy a map but it is extremely unhelpful. It could at least have text on it so you know the names of locations. It's possible exploration was a desired feature but the map just isn't that interesting to explore
  
• Some locations seem to serve no purpose despite standing out strongly, like the windmill or the ruins.
  
• Once you hit a certain amount of money and have unlocked most tools and upgrades you essentially no longer need to run the tavern. There's no upkeep required, which may be ideal for some as it means less stress but I would have liked any reason to keep running the tavern near the end of the game.

While I did enjoy some of my time with this game, I would not recommend it.

This game really feels like they wanted to do a lot of things and then did not go into depth into any of them, this combined with some odd choices like not unlocking the upstairs of the tavern and blocking the edges of the world with invisible walls, and you've got a recipe for a mediocre game that is fun with friends for a couple hours, but nothing more.

I played this for a bit solo and then some more with others.

The game starts of pretty fun. You get some gear and fix up the tavern that is filled with trash. You then get some equipment and set up your kitchen and a table for your first customers.
Get ingredients, make some food/drinks, serve your customers, clean, rinse repeat, pretty fun loop overall, at the start at least.
The game very quickly becomes doing the same thing over and over. This is usually something I love since I love roguelikes, however, you need variation, upgrades, improvements, to make it feel like you are actually making progress. Most of the progress you make, is just getting more equipment that is required to make different types of foods, sure there's also an automatic dishwasher and some upgraded version of pre-existing equipment, but most of it is just more stuff to make different stuff. There's no skill trees so people can specialize in different things like farming, combat, cooking etc. It will always be the way it is now, which is a shame.

Another thing that seems fun at first but is stupid later, is unlocking parts of the tavern. When you first open, you will see some areas that are closed off with little signs that show you at which level the areas will unlock, fine enough, but they are just empty areas you can fill with more things. The only useful ones are the ones next to the kitchen since you can fit 3 full tables (and more) in the starting area and that already is nearly too much for 2-3 people to handle consistently without running out of ingredients every couple of minutes. What is the absolute worst part about this though, is that the upper area is completely locked off and cannot be accessed, ever. It just is there, looking like space you can use but no, there's ropes preventing players from accessing it. One of the weirdest and stupidest choices I've ever seen, even if guests can't access it, why block off half of the tavern to the player(s)?

Next up, combat, a pretty big part of this game as you will have to venture out to do quests, gather ingredients and more. Combat is basic, limiting and boring. In most cases it is just hit 3 times with axe or 2 with sword, block (or dodge), rinse repeat. You know those MMO's where it is just stand still and chug health potions? This is like that but slightly more interactive. Oh and hope and pray you don't get attacked by more than 1 enemy because if they all attack at different intervals, you're dead. There's a crossbow and a gun, but the crossbow deals no damage and the gun is lategame (and I don't have it yet). There's 2 melee weapons and 2 guns even though combat is required for some ingredients, mostly if you want them cheaper since buying them is more expensive than buying an axe/sword and killing them yourself.

The last major thing that really bothered me was the world border. Invisible world borders should not be a thing, they could have made this tavern on an island or surrounded by something, but no, just invisible walls constantly and it is super annoying because it isn't super obvious where these walls are until you walk into them. The world may have some content, but it is smaller than you think, mostly in terms of variety.

Next up a couple of smaller issues.
Voice acting is fine. There is one character who sounds way too monotone for the text she says and it is the herbalist, no offense, but her voice acting is extremely poor.
Some sentences feel off, like someone google translated them or something. Not sure whether the dev's first language is English, but sometimes it doesn't feel like it is (again, no offense).
Singleplayer is awful. This game is absolutely not balanced around being alone, maybe not even in a duo. Doing the standard tavern routine is awful if you don't have anyone with you, even the helpers are not good enough, there's little variety (they either clean or serve) and are super slow. If you do play this solo, prepare to spend at least 4 times as long (if not longer really) doing what 2 or 3 people could in the same time.

The game overall is just meh. It's fun with others for a couple hours, get all the achievements, but I do not see myself playing this alone or any more after completing it.
It has awful combat, blocked off areas of your tavern and not enough worthwhile progression.
