Better than CoNY, inferior to SoNY (nothing will beat a game where you play a Lasombra imo tho). The story is interesting enough but just like CoNY it's very railroady, not much in the way of role-playing, more so a visual novel. Kali was too annoying for my tastes (the stereotypical whippersnapper neonate) and even though the story has all the components needed to be interesting, the execution fails at being gripping. The dialogue can be cringy and repetitive at times. Also, for some reason they changed the sprite art with this one for the worse - why does everyone look...elongated and airbrushed? Still, it'll quench your thirst for a good-enough vampire/VtM story and it brings the story of the trilogy to a conclusion (how good of a conclusion? you decide.) so I recommend it. Padraic deserved better

I had the golden opportunity to finish both characters on new year's eve. A top notch atmosphere. I had the sencond character aligned perfectly give or take few mins with the clock. What a story, one that gets you a little bit of that lingering depression and hearbroken melancholy afterwards.
Now, I have read there isn't much to do for the player to actually steer the course of the story, but there might be 2 possible endings? So I'll definitely play it again to see what i missed the first time.
Also I do enjoy "just story telling" games with one ending, though it's kinda hard to call them games without any gameplay (yes, I'm looking at you Higurashi series), so i don't really mind i can't intervene as much as in the first 2 games, but i guess I would appreciate if there were some more consequences for my choices.

While I still recommend this if you're into VtM, and played the other two, I would say this is the weakest of the trilogy.

Two things I did like about the game was making the hunger and threat meter an optional setting, and that the dynamic between Kali and Padraic actually felt more like a coterie than the coterie in coteries.

The primary faults I find with this one are

1. The Visual style is a noticeable poorer choice than the style of Coteries and Shadows.

2. The score of this one is rather forgettable, while Shadows was one where the sound track is worth being a DLC to buy.

3. This really didn't seem to settle up the meta plot, set up in Coteries, very well, where Kali and Padriac have really nothing to do with it, and what little is done is handled mostly through disjointed interlude scenes, nor do most of them really answer things well, or feel like they have a good logical flow. By the end as well it feels like more plot threads have opened up than were resolved, making this feel more like a set up for a V5 NY by Night book than a conclusion.

4. The major plot threads of Reckoning have no real follow through line to the first two games, where somehow a mob of low tier hunters comes out of nowhere, along with a Tzitimzsce that pops up out of nowhere and becomes a major threat.

5. This is clearly the most railroaded of the 3 visual novel games, where you have the least influence over who the PCs are and how they act throughout their journies.

6. Not a major issue, but I just find it ironic that other than her ethnicity and gender, despite V5 radically trying to cast off the past iterations of the Ravanos, Kali is about the most stereotypical Eastern European Ravanos. This I can also understand why she is off putting to many as the PC when coupled by how little the game lets you steer her personality development compared to the first two games PCs.
