This used to be my favorite multiplayer game.
That is, until the lead dev gutted it by making the most unnecessary changes possible, effectively collapsing the skill ceiling to an inch off the ground. There's little complexity in the gameplay compared to the version from 2015.
In the face of criticism, R_Yell appealed to a few yes-men rather than taking the time to properly make amends to the community.
Here's a likely incomplete list of changes I've noticed:

-Walking to increase accuracy was removed, you have to stop moving completely to not have 1% accuracy. This stop-and-go gameplay is egregiously disjointed and slow
-Accuracy was decreased for select weapons that were never really overpowered
-Loadout options were changed, many skillful combos are no longer viable or possible
-Added sliding and walljumping to be more like modern CoD. These mechanics work unreliably
-The mare's leg is slower to chamber between shots
-The bow is ruined. It takes ages to switch to it from your melee. Reloading arrows takes longer as well. The arrow drop was increased and the velocity decreased. You have to lead your aim from San Pedro to New York in order to hit a moving target
-Your running speed is hardcoded to slow to a crawl for 10 seconds if you have an ounce of imperceptible packet loss, even at 10ms. A so-called anti lag measure
-Secret passages were removed
-Interesting map dynamics from bridges to paths that helped with gameplay flow were outright removed
-Invisible walls were added to prevent parkour between buildings or dropping to some lower areas
-You can't pick up lit red dynamite and throw it back
-Weapons don't drop upon death

Feel free to comment with anything I missed. These downgrades are utterly indefensible, and the formerly loyal player-base dwindling away so quickly proves it. Calling them balances is laughable.
