Midnight Monitor: Anomaly Watch... Update?

You bet! It's currently in the works and there isn't a definite ETA, but I am currently working on adding a hub area to Anomaly Watch. This will replace the main menu and will allow you to jump into any of the levels, collect rewards and vibe in a small space that you can't escape from!

The more you play Anomaly Watch (+ Aldercourt!) the more emails you unlock, the more unique items you unlock, and the more you learn about the secrets behind SEQURE, the Midnight Monitor security system and more...

Also, you can pick up and throw most objects. Some of them squeak!

It is planned that this update will bring Anomaly Watch out of Early Access - Get hyped!


In addition to this large content update for Anomaly Watch, there are still some small bug fixes planned for Aldercourt, and then we move onto game #3...

This update adds the very frequently requested "Missed Anomalies" feature. This is accessible from the Win/Lose screens and will show you which anomalies you missed, and in which rooms:

This will allow players to better understand what anomaly types and rooms are giving them the most trouble 😎

The minimum number of cameras in the Neighbourhood House has been lowered to 4 (previously 6). This means that the game has been made easier for those who find it too challenging.

To balance this out, using fewer than 6 cameras will completely disable Hard Mode. Likewise, Hard Mode is now forced when using more than 8 Cameras. Hard Mode is still optional when using between 6 - 8 cameras.

So it turns out the Pumpkin King COULD be unkillable. A bug existed where if you changed the number of cameras on the main menu and then enabled Halloween Mode, the Front Entrance might not be active. The Pumpkin King would still spawn, with no way to kill him.

This has now been fixed. Halloween Mode = Front Entrance = Pumpkin King. Nobody actually reported this bug to me - I just happened to find it by myself, but it seemed pretty nasty!

- Added "Missed Anomaly" reports to the Win/Lose screens detailing which anomalies and locations were missed during gameplay
- The "Unlimited" FPS Limit has been changed to "Vsync" to better explain its function. Selecting this mode will allow the framerate to match your monitor's refresh rate
- Removed the built-in mouse cursor

Gameplay:
- The Kid's Room Flashlight has been brightened slightly

Camera Selector updates:
- The minimum number of cameras has been reduced to 4 (previously 6)
- When playing with fewer than 6 cameras, Hard Mode is forced off
- When playing with greater than 8 cameras, Hard Mode is forced on

Halloween Mode Bugfixes:
- Previously when enabling Halloween Mode, it was possible for the Front Entrance camera to not work, and the Pumpkin King could not be defeated.
- Now the camera rotation is refreshed whenever Halloween Mode is enabled

Misc:
- The Tutorial/Intro tooltip has been updated
- The Anomaly Scanning function can no longer fail, and will always give the location of 1 or 2 anomalies

Bugs:
- Fixed an issue where the zoom blur would persist across camera changes

A couple of small but important changes in this update!

• A new Time Manipulation Anomaly has been added

• These settings across the Modern and Neighbourhood House are now shared: Resolution, Fullscreen, Graphics Settings, FPS Limit

- Fixed: Anomaly lights that are normally turned off would stay lit when reported until the camera was changed. This is now fixed
- Fixed: Corpse blood no longer glows in the dark

- Fixed: Issues with outside lighting for the Front Entrance camera
- Fixed: Bathroom light anomaly causing too much light bleeding - It now just turns off

- Fixed: Carpets. Some were image anomalies, some were substitutions, now they are consistent. Carpet changes that look like image changes are now image anomalies (Die, Die, Die & corpse carpet to be precise)
- Fixed: When starting a round, the camera will now be randomly selected. This was originally the intended behaviour and has been restored

NOTICE: This patch was previously rolled back due to a game-breaking bug. This has now been fixed and updated to v. 0.9.9.34. Thank you for your patience.

Hi everyone! Thank you for your continued support of Midnight Monitor. I have just returned from vacation and am continuing work of the game :)

• Auto-Selection of rooms has been added, and is now similar to the room selection behaviour of the Neighbourhood House map
  
• Abysmal Growth anomalies have had their growth speed halved to make them fairer, as these could end the game very early if not caught immediately.

• Midnight Monitor will now use the Steam Deck's built-in VSync over Unity's version. This improves performance in the game dramatically
  
• The game size has been optimised and reduced by ~300MB
