Welcome Defenders! After a long time I'm coming back to you with great news, a brand NEW UPDATE!

Augments are a new progression system that grants powerful abilities! Augment selection occurs every 20 waves, starting from wave 20, until no augments are left.

This panel, accessible from the main menu, displays your amazing statistics (yes, the stats have been collected from the very beginning, so you won’t miss anything!). This also marks the beginning of the badge system—you’ll have plenty of opportunities to earn them through various events and challenges in the future!

Currently, they are categorized into three types:

• Synergy
  
• Utilities
  
• Defensive

• Fixed a bug that caused the Watcher Drone not to copy attributes correctly from the parent tower
  
• Fixed a notorious bug that made towers shoot across the map at the first enemy of the wave
  
• Fixed a bug where the Time Lock Malware Disk timer was not hidden when the Hide HUD action was performed
  
• Fixed a bug that caused trails to apparently not work (lol)
  
• Fixed a bug where end screen summary buttons didn't work

• Laser Whip will no longer display the projectile count attribute, as it is irrelevant for it
  
• Hotstreak loss now happens immediately after taking damage instead of at the end of the wave
  
• Changed Laser Whip range indicator color to blue
  
• Added a Digital Archives button to the pause panel

• Added a keybind for sampling the tower under the mouse for faster building (default Q)
  
• Added automatic settings change detection to prompt the user for confirmation before exiting
  
• Added a scalable range indicator to minimize pixel size inconsistencies
  
• Added a warning message when using a luck-based module on a tower that has no luck (surprisingly, many people missed this)

• Added 4 new achievements (one hidden)

Today, I’d like to share a "roadmap" with you.
Certainly it is missing some dates, but based on past experience, setting precise timelines has proven to be difficult.

That said, I wanted to leave you with some exciting ideas that I’m definitely planning to add in 2025. I’ll do my best to provide updates regularly, but for now, I need to take a short break.

I had the idea for the Digital Archives over a year ago, but at the time, there wasn't enough time to fill them with content. As the number of systems, towers, and modules grew so quickly, writing something that would soon become obsolete felt inefficient. Now that Defendron is well-established and has the form it should, the time has come to revisit the idea and finally implement it.

This update introduces 6 new towers, which expand the defender arsenal in an intriguing way. I'll leave the details of how they work for you to discover once the update is 100% ready, but I can assure you they bring a breath of fresh air and may prove to be very useful.

Upgrade disks have also received the attention they deserve. A much more interesting approach is the new tree structure, which grants access to all unlocked disks at once, after reaching a certain star threshold. Limiting the player to just one disk, as was the case before, wasn't satisfying or engaging enough to warrant much focus.

Malware disks are the centerpiece of this update, designed to offer players new challenges when they feel the game is too easy. Each disk increases the threat level, which acts as a score multiplier at the end of a level, while generously rewarding your efforts.

The game's progression has been completely refreshed.
First and foremost, the act unlocking system has been changed – now acts 2-5 unlock after completing the first one. This is intended to encourage players to choose their own path while progressing through the game.
I also focused on unlocking towers, ensuring that the rewards are appropriate for the floor they originate from. Additionally, when selecting levels where a new tower is the reward, I placed them at the beginning of each act. This way, players have the chance to at least try the first level of every act.
Key systems like the module workshop, upgrade disks, and malware disks have been introduced gradually, so as not to overwhelm the player. This gives them time to grasp these new mechanics before fully understanding how to use them.

The end screen has received a new visual design and now also provides players with information about which towers and modules dealt how much damage. I drew this inspiration after several hours of playing Vampire Survivors and Death Must Die (by the way, these are amazing games—definitely give them a try!), where I realized that this information is incredibly useful for evaluating what’s strong and what’s not. Besides, who doesn’t love big numbers?

I plan to release an update for Halloween and you can expect something special for the occasion!
