Apparently there's a hidden achievement? Has anyone gotten it?

Somehow I waited almost 10 years to play this game, and if I start the game inside the Steam client, it only shows a white screen and crashes, but I go to the game folder and select "Windows Compatiility" and select Windows 8 and it runs perfectly... but again if I play it thru Steam client, it won't saves the compatibility settings and crashes again. Somebody knows how to keep that settings or assign them inside the Steam client, on launch parameters?...

So I've gotten to the swamp. I fought the tree (and the magpie that decided to join the party) for the shard and secured it back home.
