I keep getting Access violation error when trying to start Icewastes of Shalibar level in free game mode. Any way to fix it?

Hi! i don't actually remember if i posted here before but uhm i'm on the first mission in the freeplay mode. the map that's all green and has two towns to defend from skeletons and i was wondering, when do i actually win? i destroyed their bases but i guess there's straggler skeletons? must i defeat every last enemy to end the mission? cause that'd be really annoying to have to find every last enemy...

I lost all of my save game files from a few years back and I'm recreating my save games. I remember the first time I played i had this error the second time I entered realm of the gods and the game just quits. I fixed it somehow after a lot of headaches but I cant remember how I fixed these errors....
