Greetings from the Summoners War Dev Team!

It’s been a while since our last Developer’s Preview, and we’re happy to be back!

Summoners War is currently celebrating the 11th anniversary of global service with various in-game events.

We are truly grateful for the continued support and enthusiasm from all Summoners, and seeing so many of you enjoying the events gives our team incredible motivation.

The Free Special Summon Event where you can choose your own summon list is live during the global 11th anniversary period, along with free weekly special summons.

Don’t forget to log in each week for your summons, and make sure to check out various events that offer exclusive rewards such as the 11th Anniversary Craft Building Skin and Cow Girl Emojis.

Once again, thank you to all Summoners for your unwavering love and support.

We will continue doing our best to bring you even more exciting and rewarding content.

Today’s Developer’s Preview will cover the v.8.7.5 update, scheduled for late June.

This update will include QoL improvements for the Monster Storage and Sealed Shrine, and additional slots to save and load World Arena Runes.

Let’s dive into the topics.

<Monster Storage & Sealed Shrine Improvements>

Over time, many Summoners have requested Monster Storage expansions to manage their Monsters and decks better.

However, since stored Monsters retain their equipped Runes and Artifacts, such expansion posed server load risks, which held us back from opting for expansions to satisfy the needs.

To address this issue while enhancing the usability of Monsters in battle, we plan to introduce changes to the Normal Monster Sealed Shrine, where Monsters are stored without any engraved Runes or Artifacts, so that these Monsters can be used in battles—allowing the Sealed Shrine to take on some of the Monster Storage's role.

1. The Monster Storage UI will be improved to let you store and move Monsters more easily from Sky Island, Monster Storage, Summoned Monster Sealed Shrine, and Normal Monster Sealed Shrine.

Currently, only Monsters on Sky Island can be stored or withdrawn through the Monster Storage interface.

After this update, you will be able to choose the storage location from the dropdown menu as above.

We expect this change to make it easier to move unused Monsters from the Monster Storage to Sealed Shrine, helping you manage your Monster Storage slots more effectively.

2. Temporary Rune and Artifact engraving feature will be introduced to let you use Monsters in the Sealed Shrine.

Currently, to use Monsters in the Normal Monster Sealed Shrine in battle, you have to take them out of the shrine and engrave Runes and Artifacts before using them in battle.

We believe this is not the most convenient process and hinders battle availability.

To improve this experience and increase the accessibility of Monsters in the Sealed Shrine, we plan to add a Sealed Shrine tab under the Monster Storage and implement a temporary engraving feature.

Let's walk through how this works.

Step 1. Press the Monster Storage icon on the battle preparation screen.

Step 2. Press the new Sealed Shrine tab added under the Monster Storage menu, and select the Monster to use in battle. In this example, we selected Bernard stored in the Sealed Shrine.

Step 3. Press the new temporary engrave icon added to the Monster info screen on the battle preparation screen.

Step 4. Among the Monsters displayed, select the Monster to load its Runes and Artifacts. In this example, we selected Tiana (roaming Sky Island or stored in the Monster Storage) and temporarily engraved its Runes and Artifacts on Bernard for battle.

\[Temporary Engraving Feature Details]

- This feature will be initially available in asynchronous PvP content such as Siege Battle, Arena, and Arena Interserver Battle.

: We plan to gradually expand to other content like ToA and Tartarus' Labyrinth after verifying stability and demand.

- During battle, the original Monster's Runes and Artifacts are considered unequipped.

: In the above case, Tiana will temporarily lose its Runes and Artifacts while Bernard is in battle.

- If the target Monster has a different attribute or type, unmatching Attribute/Type Artifacts will stay on the original Monster.

: For example, temporarily engraving Byungchul's Runes and Artifacts on Galleon will load the Type Artifact (HP), but the Attribute Artifact (Wind) will stay on Byungchul.

- After battle, Runes and Artifacts will return to the original Monster, and the target Monster will return to the Sealed Shrine.

: In the above case, Tiana will have its Runes and Artifacts back and Bernard will be stored in the Sealed Shrine.

- Temporary engraving will cost 300,000 Mana Stones.

3. You will be able to store marked or locked Monsters in the Sealed Shrine.

We aim to lift unnecessary restrictions to improve the storage function for more Monsters.

<Other Updates in v8.7.5>

1. World Arena Rune Save/Load Slot Expansion

The World Arena has a wide range of modes, from standard battles to 2vs2 Team Battle and 4★ Battles.

To better support various setups, additional slots to use the Save/Load Runes of All Monsters function will be provided.

For example, you will be able to keep a default Rune/Artifact setup in Slot 1 and utilize Slot 2 to save and load alternate Rune/Artifact setups for other modes, offering more flexibility and strategy across various World Arena modes.

2. Mentor Level Requirement Raised to Lv. 100

For more suitable Mentors, the minimum level requirement for Mentors will increase from Lv. 50 to Lv. 100.

This adjustment will disable all Mentor-Mentee relationships involving Lv. 50 - 99 Mentors after the v8.7.5 update. Please prepare in advance if you are currently using the Mentor/Mentee system.

We hope these improvements will give you more freedom and convenience in managing your Monsters, and make Monster collection and battle strategy more enjoyable.

We are hard at work to prepare the v.8.7.5 update for late June,

and will share additional implementation details and screenshots in a follow-up notice soon.

the game worked fine . then com2us blessed us with an update . now the game flickers avery 2 frame . feels like im playing with 5 fps its unplayable now . and before you come to me i juste tested on clair obscur and doom dark age im at 144 fps no flickering/fps drop . so yeah thank you for the update . i guess im punished for tryng to farm the event xDD update : i juste tested a bunch of things ans here is the issue . if we farm x30 in a dungeon or watever afk farming content , the game will have like 3 f...

▶ [Siege Battle] Auto Placement and Placement Order Setting Feature Added

- When placing defense formations on a base, you can use [Auto Place] to place defense formations at once.

- [Siege Battle] The order of formations for auto placement can be set under the \[Placement Order Settings] menu.

: Defense formations will be placed in ascending order of their placement order during auto placement.

: For defense formations without a designated placement order, they will be placed in the following order.

Most Successful Defenses > Least Failed Defenses > Arena Grade > Most Recently Created

: The auto placement order will be displayed next to the defense formations when setting up bases.

: Only the Guild Master and Vice Guild Masters can set the placement order for up to 100 formations.

: Once set, the placement order will remain unchanged even if the Monster composition, Rune, and Artifact info of the formation are modified. The placement order will be removed automatically if the owner of the formation leaves the guild or removes the formation.

▶ Combined Stats Display Feature Added

- You can now view the final stat values that add up base stats and the effect of equipped Runes and Artifacts.

: Press the stat area in the Monster Inventory or Monster info pop-ups to switch the display between the combined stats and original stats.

▶ Monster Deck Management Feature Improved

- You can now change the order of your Monster decks.

: Use the upward and downward arrows to change the deck order.

: This feature is available in content that supports the deck management feature on the battle preparation screen. (Siege Battle, World Guild Battle, Tartarus' Labyrinth, Guild Rival Battle, Arena, Arena Interserver Battle, Trial of Ascension, Challenge of Ascension, Rift Raid, and Dimension Raid)

▶ Monster Name Search Feature Added (all menus where Monster search is available)

: You must enter at least one character, and all Monsters whose awakened and unawakened names contain the entered text will be searched.

▶ Other Improvements and Changes

- \[Summoner's Way > Challenge > Attribute Dungeon] The "Request to Enter Secret Dungeon" mission has been changed to "Open Secret Dungeon or Request to Enter."

- The repurchase feature has been added to the following content.

: Arena Interserver Battle, Monster Subjugation, Siege Battle, Tartarus' Labyrinth, and World Boss

- \[Siege Battle] You can now press the Monster thumbnail in the pop-up for unequipped Runes/Artifacts which occurs when setting up a base to view the Monster's Rune/Artifact info.

- \[Craft Building] You can now craft Legendary Summoning Pieces and Light & Dark Summoning Pieces multiple times at once.

- You can now search Runes by their main property and sub properties when using Gems/Grindstones.

- \[Summonhenge > Monster Summoning Piece] You can now choose whether to use Almighty Summoning Pieces.

- \[Guild Battle Research] You can now load defense decks you have previously registered when adding a new defense deck.

* This feature will be available for only the defense decks you register after the v8.7.4 update.

▶ Arena Improvements

- \[Arena Interserver Battle] A notification will now appear for Monsters that are missing Runes/Artifacts on the battle preparation screen.

- \[Arena Interserver Battle > Defense Placement] A menu that allows you to view all currently placed Monsters at once has been added. You can load Runes/Artifacts engraved on other Monsters or use management features under this menu.

- \[World Arena > 2vs2 Team Battle] A notification icon will now appear on the content entry button if there are rewards available to claim.

- \[World Arena > Replay] Draw results will now appear in the match results preview pop-up.

▶ \[Siege Battle] Special Rule Menu

- A special rule setting feature has been added to the test battle menu to let you experience Siege Battle Tournament Season 18 special rules in advance.

- The feature is available via Test at the top right of the \[Defense] or \[Member > Battle Info > Defense Placement] menu.

- Special rules for this season's Siege Battle Tournament are as below.

- The following limited-time product will be available for purchase at the Surprise Shop.

▶ Game Bugs Fixed

- \[Siege Battle] Fixed an issue where the Runes/Artifacts of Monsters stored in \[Manage Monster Deck > Monster Storage] and \[Base > Guild Members in Attack] were displayed as default Runes/Artifacts.

- Fixed an issue where the skill icon of passive skills with a damage increase effect appeared before dealing damage.

- Fixed an issue where the \[Red Lotus Umbrella] appeared in the wrong position when Ellia was wearing the \[Red Lotus Girl] costume while riding the \[Volcanic Lava Flying Dragon].

- Fixed an issue where you were moved to the World Map after a battle in Siege Battle.

- Fixed an issue where (Wind) Druid's \[Patience of Beast (Passive)], at full stack, decreased the enemy's Defense even when its attack landed as a Glancing Hit.

- \[Siege Battle] Fixed an issue where the Rune info of Monsters could not be loaded by "Load World Arena Runes" after using "Load Runes of All Monsters" under \[Monster > Rune Management].

▶ [Siege Battle] Exclusive Rune/Artifact Setting Feature
You can equip and manage Runes/Artifacts specifically for Siege Battle via the new [Monster] menu added to the battlefield. Runes and Artifacts engraved via this menu will only be applied in Siege Battle and will not affect other content.

- [Siege Battle > Monster] Menu
: You can register up to 50 frequently used Monsters for Siege Battle through a Favorites feature.
: You cannot sell Runes, Artifacts, Grindstones, Gems, and Conversion Stones, but you can switch and remove Runes/Artifacts with no Mana Stone cost.
: You can power up, enchant, and grind Runes, and the changes will be applied to the original Runes.
: When using the [Load Runes/Artifacts] feature to load Runes/Artifacts from other Monsters, they will be loaded based on the Siege Battle settings.

- You can load default Runes or World Arena Runes of Monsters in the Siege Battle Rune management menu.
: Following the Siege Battle Rune/Artifact separation, a feature to load Siege Battle Runes/Artifacts has been added to the default and World Arena Rune management menus.
* Upon your first entry into the Siege Battle battlefield after the v8.7.3 update, Runes/Artifacts equipped on Monsters in Siege Battle will be automatically synced as Siege Battle-exclusive settings. After this sync, Rune/Artifact settings for Siege Battle will be managed independently from other content.
* Monster decks saved in [Manage Monster Deck] will also be separated for Siege Battle.
e.g., Editing Monster decks in Siege Battle will not affect those used in World Guild Battle or Guild Rival Battle.
* The stats in [Monster Info > Statistics] for Siege Battle will be displayed based on the Monster’s default Rune/Artifact information at the time of the v8.7.3 update, but will be replaced with Siege Battle-exclusive Rune/Artifact information in a future update.

▶ [Siege Battle] Improvements and Changes
- [Siege Battle] When a guild member successfully attacks a formation being attacked by multiple members, the remaining attackers will now be considered to have lost their battles. These battles will count as successful defenses for the formation, and the owner of the formation will earn defense victory points. Such wins and losses will be logged, and failed attackers will not earn Siege Battle EXP.
- [Siege Battle] A pop-up will appear when a guild member attempts to attack the defense formation that they reserved to attack.
- [Siege Battle] A new UI that displays your guild’s defense deck for successful defenses has been added to [Info > Defense].

▶ Other Improvements and Changes
- [Community > Friend] You can now see not only the channel number of online friends but also the language they are using. (Global, Europe, and Asia servers only)
- The number of auto-joined chat channels based on selected language has increased from 500 to 9999. (Global, Europe, and Asia servers only)
- The maximum number of players that can be blocked has increased from 50 to 100.
: You can view or unblock blocked Summoners under [Settings > Options > Block List].
- The visual effect of Hand of Reincarnation Shadowcaster under the [Shadow's Protection] state has been improved.
- A button that links to Arena-related Help topics has been added on the Arena menu screen.
- [Settings > Options > Other Settings] You can now configure settings to receive vibration notifications when a match for World Arena Ranking Battle is found.

▶ New Monster Transmogrifications
- [Deep Sea Spear Sea Emperor, Nature Protector Beast Rider, and Sea Tribe Gladiatrix] have been added.

▶ Game Error Fix
- Fixed an issue where the Monster name in the mini Monster info window appeared out of place in some language settings.
- Fixed an issue where the defense deck would disappear when re-battling a defense deck registered in Guild Battle Research under certain conditions.

Ive been playing this game on and off for around 10 years now, mainly because i would constantly run out of space on my phone and have to delete it for room. Otherwise i would have been a loyal player for the entirety of the time. Love the game. Cant say its without faults and its not for everyone. With that being said I love the graphic style, the game play, and the PvP. It has grown a lot over the years, plenty to do, and the way they have made it so easy for new or returning players to catch up again is amazing. Look forward to the continued growth of the game. Thank you Com2Us.
