I've played both the original NES games and this one enough to award the NES games as the better versions. Mainly for it's charm and nature along with it's gameplay. This one just feels like your average run of the mill budget remaster in comparison. There was some level of care though that was poured into this project, as the animations are well-done and other visual decency that just simply passes. It didn't need to be a AAA-level of a remaster, it just does enough to say 'decent'.

Where this game falls flat with me though is lot more of the smaller things that piled up into my overall judgment on this game. There's no real sound/music volume setting in the options for example. If you want to skip dialogue, you have to always go to the pause menu and then select to skip which is annoying because why not just have a button to skip?

Even though this game was released on consoles first before handhelds, playing this game does feel like you're playing a mobile port at times. It gives the feeling that what you could be playing could feel a little bigger but it's hard to shrug that feeling at times.

The classics simply win here.
