I see the white path for the cat to jump but can't figure out how to accomplish the jump

Ok, based on the advice in the Secrets section, I changed the Stimtype file it to unaware and then started a new game, but still demons get me. So I changed ALL the Stimtype files to unaware and started a new game, but I still get killed by demons. If I uninstall the game and reinstall it, will all the file go back to the default? Any suggestions? Does the "fix" work on the first demon that is at the top of the stairs? ...
