This review is specially made for those who like to get all the achievements in games (minor spoilers ahead).

Description:
Growth is a puzzle game where you send animals with different abilities into unknown territories until you discover most of it and advance to the next area. It’s played like Minesweeper but instead of looking for empty spaces you need to avoid them and send your animals to where clusters of vegetation are to get more animals. There is no story mode, only the option of making individual runs, and each time the map is randomly generated.

The graphics are very simple and the grid is made of hexagons with slight gradients or simple 3D elements like trees or flowers. The background music and sound effects are also simple, but are relaxing.

The gameplay revolves around making good decisions when sending animals and finding the best way to overcome obstacles in the terrain. It might not be intuitive at first, but most of the time you need to send animals to get more animals and create big clusters to get all the bonuses. Mixing types of animals is also advantageous in most situations.

Unfortunately, the game is fun in the first hours but later it starts getting repetitive because there isn’t enough content or randomness to make each run unique, nor higher difficulties after you complete the game.


Achievements:
How many: 30 Achievements.
How much time: Around 11 hours and many runs.
Game difficulty: Easy, after playing for a while and understanding the mechanics.
Achievements’ Difficulty: Easy, but requires a lot of grinding for the last achievements and the bat and beaver ones are bugged, but keep sending the special animals and eventually you’ll get them. The last achievement I got was the 100 000 tiles one, which took me a few hours after completing the game 4 or 5 times in total.


Overall opinion:
Growth is a fun puzzle game, with simple graphics and a unique concept but too little content to justify playing more than 10 hours to get all the achievements.
