This game possesses the potential to be truly remarkable, yet it is not quite there yet.

The core foundation is impressive. The building mechanics are exceptionally intuitive, allowing players to create structures that are aesthetically pleasing with remarkable ease. The experience of constructing your first wall or tower is truly captivating and serves to draw you in immediately.

However, at present, the game feels rather bare-bones and would benefit from additional development time. Despite being titled "Tiny Glade," the world size is disappointingly small, limiting players to constructing only a single castle or hamlet. The promotional material suggests the possibility of creating sprawling cities and towns; however, this is not currently feasible. A larger world that accommodates multiple expansive towns and cities interconnected by winding roads, alongside small hamlets and farming areas, is what this game could and should aspire to.

Moreover, the available building pieces are limited. While it is possible to create detailed houses and castles by combining components of various sizes and angles, the colour wheel does offer a nice variety. Nonetheless, there is a pressing need for greater diversity, particularly in terms of ambient and environmental objects to enhance the surroundings. Currently, the game includes only one type of flower that often does not align with the desired aesthetic. Expanding the range of flora, incorporating different varieties of crops, and providing options for placing small rocks or boulders to create varied terrain would greatly enhance the experience. Additionally, offering more control over tree placement would further enrich the building environment. These are merely a few examples of enhancements that could elevate the game significantly.

While my critique may appear somewhat nit-picky, I understand that the game has only recently launched and is likely to receive updates introducing many of these features. I wish to emphasise in this review that the current state of the game feels quite limited. Having spent just over an hour playing, I have already encountered the constraints of the (admittedly small) available space. I find that I quickly exhaust the options presented to me, and I am doubtful that I would wish to start anew in a different glade, as the building pieces do not offer sufficient variety to create distinctly different designs. This limitation is not a reflection of my creativity; rather, it is a constraint imposed by the game itself.

To truly realise its potential, the game needs to expand the available space and introduce a broader variety of building components and decorative elements. Should these enhancements be made, "Tiny Glade" could indeed become an outstanding title. As it stands, however, I cannot envision myself investing more than a dozen hours in its current form without exhausting its offerings. If you find these limitations acceptable at the current price point, I encourage you to support the developers, as they will likely continue to improve the game. Nonetheless, it is prudent to be aware of these factors before making a purchase.

That said, my review remains positive!, as I recognise the tremendous potential inherent in the core mechanics, and I anticipate that the game will provide enjoyment for a considerable time.

To start off, the game is definitely cute. If you've seen people play it and like what you see, get it.

My only complaint is that I played the demo for some hours and enjoyed it, but it still felt lacking, so I was looking forward to the full game. When the full game came out, I bought it, excited to see what it had to offer that the demo did not. I was disappointed to see that, other than more space to build, water, and some additions to the color pallet, there wasn't much more in the final game.

If you have access to the demo, I recommend just playing the demo unless the devs have plans on adding a LOT more content to the game. It isn't expensive, but I chose this game over another similarly priced one that IS significantly more flushed out, so I am disappointed and wish I had waited.

It isn't terrible by any means, but it IS lackluster when we had a "full game" held over our heads after playing the demo--I expected a LOT more out of the released game.

Absolutely amazing game. Relaxing and fun, there are no rules or objectives. This is a sandbox where you can let your imagination run wild. The updates continue to add amazing features, but here is my little wishlist of things to add:

-Wood texture for buildings! Imagine being able to build a log cabin in the woods!
-Stairs that aren't from the path tool on landscape; manmade staircases
-Polygonal building shapes (octagons, hexagons, etc.)
-Curved buildings, similar to walls and fences placement
-More Chimney brick colors
-Place lanterns on fences and walls and allow posts to be on top of buildings
-Larger building areas, or allow player to expand the area after building
-Grab multiple parts and move them together
-Highlight and change the color of multiple things (shift and click on each?)
-Rejoin walls that have been separated with scissors
-Change lantern post color and stone lantern posts
-Placeable things that can randomly spawn (wheelbarrow, bucket, tools, etc.)
-Use eraser tool to remove randomly spawned things as above
- More terrain/themes, desert, swamp, cave, sky, the list goes on and on
-Placeable bushes instead of having to use flowers
-Scalable trees, for saplings or smaller varieties
-Change water flow speed for still water, or rivers, waterfalls, allowing water wheels and more.
-Crops like wheat, corn, pumpkins, or tomatoes to make a proper garden or farm
-More colors!
-More fauna like fireflies, fish, etc.
-Different flag shapes, flag pole height adjustment.
-Pieces to make a harbor, maybe boats?
-Larger limit on placeable buildings
-Other misc objects like wells, spinning lighthouse light, buildable gazebos, windmill pieces, and more.

I understand this is a ton, so if some of it was locked behind DLC, I would understand and be willing 100% to buy it to support the developers. I think it is very worth it. :) And if this is too much, the community can do wonders if the steam workshop is opened up to everyone! I would love to see what they can do or at the least be able to share complete projects with everyone that way! Highly recommend this game and can't wait to see future updates!
